Extreme case of dry skin?

I have had a dry spot on my ankle for a few years now, that has been getting worse, its very dry, red %26amp; itchy and has been progressivly spreading up my leg. And sometimes a crack opens into a sore. I have tried numerous Anti-biotic,Steroid %26amp; topicol Creams %26amp; nothing seems to help. I have a Picture if anyone who is interested in looking at it. I will email it. please help %26amp; give advice if you know anything about this problem.

Extreme case of dry skin?
Try a creme called Eucerin. It comes in a tub and it is non scented. It is made for really dry skin, eczema %26amp; psoriasis. You can get it anywhere. My mom buys it because she has eczema really bad. And the doctor also told my mom to take flax seed oil.. it is supposed to bring out natural oils in your skin. And if that doesnt work, try going to the Doc!
Reply:have you tried (corn huskers) lotion.it works really well with dry and cracked skin. or see a dermatologist
Reply:My husband had something similar, same symptoms on the same spot. He finally went to the dermatologist and he told him it was a weird infection. He treated him with oral antibiotics and a topical cream. After 1 week of treatment, his condition seems to be improving. You should probably visit your dermatologist.
Reply:My mother is a diabetic, and her feet and legs are so dry, I can barely look at them. For her, I bought her Aveeno lotion, Heard about from a friend. Try the one with the Green stripe across it. My Mother loves it, and she's got a large bottle now. She puts it on and claims that the itching is gone right away. Its got great ingredients in it. Aside from lotion they also have bath soak packets that come in a box. I'm going to get her those to soak her feet in, her heels crack easily. Its the diabetes. Hope this helps, you won't be sorry.
Reply:GET A ALOE VERA PLANT , RUB THE SAP OVER THE WHOLE AREA
Reply:if you want to try something less expensive, i recomend going to a local rite aid or phrmacy and picking up some nuetrogena moisturizer. it is a great brand garunteed to work. they also have super great exfoliater. just apply dollop onto your skin every morning and night. after a week or so ,your skin should be better! it is cheap too!
Reply:You may be low on good oils %26amp;/or vitamins %26amp; minerals. You might try adding more olive oil %26amp; walnut oil to your diet %26amp; really avoiding trans fats. You might also try really increasing your vitamin B ,C, %26amp; potassium intake (by quite a lot - your body may be very low on these). Try curing it through diet because the creams are just a band-aid.
Reply:The source below is a good source of info for dry skin care.
Reply:Have you consulted with your doctor yet? It might be psoriasis. Other than that, try to exfloliate the area to take away the dry upper layer, then put a moisturizer that is compatible with your skin type. Drink lots of water and just keep yourself well hydrated.
