Weird brown/reddish patch on skin?

It appeared like a week ago... what is it? here's a pic:

Weird brown/reddish patch on skin?
Do you lay in a tanning bed or are you in the sun much? have you been checked for skin cancer? I would go to my dermatologist and get it checked. you wouldnt want to have skin cancer and not know it. but then again it could just be stress marks. but i would have it checked just to be safe.
