I know that a sign of pregnancy can be sensative nipples but what about if they are a little itchy? Would that be considered the same as being sensative? Its been about 6 days since my partner and I had sex, trying to conceive and I wasn't sure if I could be getting any symptoms already. We were together on my most fertile day according to an ovulation calendar.

i've asked some mothers %26amp; they said that it normally gets dry and itchy..not just on the tummy..of course i have lotion to prevent it but same thing ..does it have something to do with being pregnant?

Also all the neutrients go to the baby first, which means that your diet must be exellent. You need fatty acids like in avacados, olive oil and other healthy fats. This is not a time to diet. This is the time to eat your best ever. not just for your baby for for yourself.

Why does my skin turn red and itch when I excersice outside (when it's cold)?
I go running outside in the morning but then I have to stop because my legs get unbearably itchy. It happens when its cold.. its very annoying! Any helpful advice whould be very much appreciated, thank you.

So, just because the blood goes toward the surface of the skin doesn't explain it. When I come in from the cold, any exposed skin will have big red blotches on it. After a few minutes, they will start to itch worse and then turn into almost welts, like what you'd get from an insect bite. A couple of times I've nearly gotten a case of hives on my legs (being out in shorts in, say, 45 degree weather) because of the itching. So, I'm wondering why this happens. Thanks.

My tattoo( had for months )has healed but now is raised bumpy red and itchy?Possibly scard?
My doctor told me to use vitamin e cream so im using cocoa butter im mixed race and read that maybe they went do deep because people with darker skin skins more sensative

I scar in a weird way - and usually always get the tiny red ( rash like ) bumps on my sensitive areas after a tattoo ... it should go away with time and you can always get the tattoo touched up or worse case you'll have to get it covered ... hope this helps ... good luck ... !

Can semen cause skin irritation to the out side of the vagina?
My friend had intercourse with her husband the other night and they both feel asleep before cleaning up and she said the next morning she was itchy and sore where his semen was on her.
Is their acids or anything that could cause it? They don't cheat and they both get STD checks regularly.

This is probably a fungus of some sort. I get them all the time in summer %26amp; they go away after I do this! I do it several times a year. As long as you have no open cuts or athlets foot open sores, you will be fine. It kills all fungus.

I have been trying to figure out what's the cause, and still doing the a quest about it.
May be it is related to the habit of putting on shoes and socks most of the time, that result into the feet sweating, with less aeration. Am not sure whether friction is related to it.
However i can not rule out the possibility of microbes interplay in the pealing of that skin around the feet (not on the top (pedis)) just on the sides and the sole.
I find myself scrapping off the dead skin but after a few weeks, the dead skin appears again.

This is probably a fungus of some sort. I get them all the time in summer %26amp; they go away after I do this! I do it several times a year. As long as you have no open cuts or athlets foot open sores, you will be fine. It kills all fungus.

I've recently started using the murad acne complex ... It seemed to clean well but the next day I woke up with like a chemical burn all over red, itchy, burning , dry and sore to the touch?? should I stop ? ok, so as long as i can remember ive had these tiny little bumps along the sides of my cheeks, you cant see them and theyre not itchy or anything, jsut bumps, ive tried many different products and at first it will make them go away but after about a week of using it the bumps will just come back.....any suggestions?

Red bumps on skin, swelling of lips and tongue??
About a week ago, my bottom lip started swelling in class.. a few hours later the swelling went down but moved to the other side of my bottom lip.. then the top lip swelled up on the side.. this happened again yesterday but only my upper lip. Also, last night my tongue swelled up at the tip but on the right side.. then that went down and swelled up on the left! Now, I came back from school and there are really itchy red bumps in my underarms, my back, tummy, and inner thighs. I played soccer for PE today and was really sweaty.. so could this mean it was because of my sweat? Or is it because I used an anti-perspirant? I've taken an anti-histimene.. Thanks in advance! =]

I have a Chiuaua/Dotson Mix?
Everytime I bath her she itches uncontrolably. She digs so much at the bottom of her legs that her hair is starting to thin. I have bought her special oatmeal shampoo and itchy skins meds, but it just doesn't seem to be helping. Does anyone know what this could possible be. Or how to treat it or what to do? Thanks!

2) when you bathe the little cutie-pie, you are stripping her skin of the protective oils it desperately needs to keep it healthy so it doesn't dry out - dry skin causes her to itch/scratch like crazy!
Just stop bathing her. Dogs clean themselves well enough. If you give her a chance, her oil will re-coat her skin and fur, and she can heal herself. If you really feel that she needs a bath, take her to a professional, and tell them ahead of time about her issues.

Too many baths will aggravate the problem. Bathing dries the skin out. Once a month should be sufficient for the little one.

Irritated patches of skin??
The crooks of my elbows get very red and itchy during the winter. After the irritation subsides the patches become discolored and remain this way even during the summer when the rest of my body tans. Any suggestion as to what this is or what I can do to prevent it?

My fiance has developed red splotches on his stomach/hip area. They are not itchy, they are not raised at all. He has no known allergies and nothing has changed as far as laundry soap, or foods he has eaten. They seem to appear on random. Any clues as to what this could be?

I get cronic winter skin on my legs due to the dryness of running a heater. I use a humidfider to help put moister back into the air. Try Useing Sally Hanson dry skin remover(find around nail polish section at cvs drugs. white and orange packaging. ) Have your skin dry and rub till it feels better then
take warm shower and dry off then try a good quality lotion or johonson creamy baby lotion really helps me I have tried around 30 lotions and this is the best value and works well.
do this a few times then weekly and see if its better. if not try going to the DR to get something stronger.

hi. early this year i saw an acne-like spot on my genital. i just ignore it. the following day, another one appeard.. i am very confused and i dont know what to do.. i cant tell anyone because i am shy to tell them. i look at it on the internet but i wasnt sure about it.. it was kinda "genital warts".. i haven't have sex with anyone..
but im not that sure.. how can i cure it.. is it dangerous? what are the symptoms of it..? please tell me all the stuffs i need to do about it.. as of now there has been 10 of them and kinda itchy.. please help.

hi, firstly dont worry, i think they are just spot's, my son had a similar thing and he was told they were nothing to worry about they are spots/systs (just like you get anywhere else)nothing to worry about, if they become sore or inflamed you will be able to get creams from the doctors but if they are not sore, keep the area clean and dry and just ignore them and they will go away :-)
Reply:These may be caused by a fungal infection. Which means you will need to get either some yeast infection medication or some athletes foot medication and rub it on the sores for a week or two.
Otherwise it could be caused by shaving that area. After you shave that area you get pimples there.
The pimples from shaving will go away on their own.

It is re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean or over weight and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there if you are looking.

Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, bikini line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rubs against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, and it was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did.
Currently I have 5, 2 next to each other on my right inner groin. 2 in my upper HAIR area, and 1 med sized on my butt on the panty line, and they do come every week or so. I find that certain foods, not having a regular showering regimen, wearing clothing that irritates the area.. And STRESS usually is a precursor to getting one.
and YES thongs and TIGHT jeans will definately irratate the area... when I have some I can only wear slacks or strechy pants.... ughhhhhhhhhhh!!
I also prefer to use NEXCARE bandages.. There are 2 kinds I like for comfort and stay put reasons..
The first is like a clear band aid.... soft on the edges with a small area of bandage... helps with those buggers when they are on bikini line.. Usually stay for me.. Or occasionally on my inner thigh for those I like the foamy sponge like ones that are beige in color.. I think they are 3M.

I have a skin condition?
i have small red spots that are on the hair folicles on the front of my legs, my hips and the backs of my arms. they are not itchy and casue no dicomfort. however my legs look horrible, there are hundreds of red spots on them. WHAT IS THIS HOW DO I TREAT IT ?

Reply:ok i'm NOT kidding but have casteroil! n take five table spoons early in d morning n u mush stay home the day. ask ur pharamasist if u don't knw about it. this will clear everything in ur blood , kidney and wht it is that is causing this spots!!it will will work. learnt it in hsc class!!! plus when u have taken this don't drink anything cold!!! or even ice cream. stay home n keep drinking water after taking it coz water helps with it 2 flush ur system!!! n don't have a shower that day. n eat normal. no alcohol or chocolates plus coffee!!! gud luck!! it will cure!!!

I think I have a skin allergy??
I ate some sea food a week ago, and that same night that I ate the seafood, my stomach started to feel really itchy. Within the next few days, I started to see a red rash, and now, my rash is starting to scab up and it has a white ring around the red scabs, and a large red ring (covering almost my who stomach) but the big red circle is not itchy. I would go to a doctor, but i dont have insurance...what do you think I should do?? my dad said to put vinager on it...??? please...any input is apprecated...:)

Don't put vinegar on it though as its most likely won't do anything and will probably hurt/burn... and could make things worse.

When I found him as a kitten, he had a herpes eye infection, which flares up when he's stressed. Could something like this manifest on his skin? It's around one ear, one side of his mouth and under his chin. It's very pink, not oozy but a little crusty looking. Plus a scab by his ear, from scratching I think. He NEVER goes outside, and my other cat shows no signs of the problem, so I'm thinking ... allergy? My vet is closed today - I am taking him tomorrow - but in the meantime, it's driving me crazy. Thank you!

i dont know what it could be that im allergic to, thoguht it was hair dye as it only appeared since i been workin in a hair dressers. but it didnt appear on my hands only my face and neck. its kindof red marks, some with whiteheads and they are itchy. the doctor thought i was only allergic to it when i have it on me, like when im gettin my hair dyed. but.... i havn had my hair dyed since and it has appeared again!!!! how do i get rid of it!! posted another question explainin all details. i want it gone for good!! how do i get rid of it?? i am starting taking anti histamines again as this is third time its appeared since end of august!! and using hyrocortasone creme too. but i used those last time and it has appeared again. so they obviously didnt work last time. please help. i really need your advice!!! x x x x x

I used them last year when I had a reaction (to the acid in raw tomato ... go figure); they work quickly since they are being absorbed as soon as you put it on your tongue. At the very least, it helps with the swelling, redness and any itching.

Eyeliner for sensitive skin???

don'tt wear eyeliner for sensitve skin even tho there are some eyeliner u can use. just wear mascara that makes ur lashes longer. it makes hte same effect =]

What are these red blotches on my skin?
I just noticed them yesterday as I was eating McDonald's. It's been awhile since I've eaten from McDonald's - could that have been the cause of it? Also I just recently got my wisdom teeth removed (about a week ago) and I've been taking demerol (for like the first 3-4 days which I started on July 19) and antibiotics (since July 19 and ended yesterday). I was outside for a good portion of the day (for about four hours) and it wasn't until the third to fourth hour that I noticed the spots. They itched a litttle when I first noticed them, but now that I put lotion on it - it's not itchy. Also my hands seem itchy too, and strangely dry at the same time.

You have hives. It could be an allergic reaction to your medications, or an interaction with the sun and your meds. Stay out of the sun, and treat the hives by taking an antihistamine (oral or cream but NOT BOTH) and put some gel that's for sunburns on it (it's usually green or blue). The gel helps numb it, and helps to dry it up. Any tightness in the chest or throat or difficulty breathing then you will need to get to the ER ASAP.

My sister suffers from really dry skin which looks like little red spots all over her skin?
it gets really painfull and itchy when it gets wet and she has to use creams and oils after getting out of the shower she is very self consciouse about wearing clothes that will expose her arms and legs (where it mainly is) and she does not go swimming anymore even though she used to always. it's really starting to get her down and i want to help her but i dont know wat to do has anyone ever had this and did it eventuallt go away

Also have her increase the amount of water she drinks, healing from the inside out, so to speak =)

Reply:what she should try is ... showering with baby oil... okay what she should try to do is... before showering.. get in the shower... run the water.. get her body all wet and then rub baby oil allllll over... leave it sitting and then wash it off... then do it again... of course its oil and its not going to all the way come off so it will leave her moisterized... then she shoudl take a showr so she doesnt' smell liek baby oil of course.. and hten mix her lotion with a little bit of baby oil... it really works.... when i got back from iraq my skin was really dry and thats what the doctor told me to do.. try it!.. good luck! :)

She finally saw a specialist and found out that it is a rare type of Psoriasis. They also gave her cream and skin rubs and told her to stay out of the sun. She's had it now for about 6 months and it hasn't gone away. Then she mentioned to my uncle (who too had the same skin irritations all over his body) and he told her that the day he went to Mexico and spent time in the sun it already started to go away. By the time he got home it was gone and has not come back since. Im not a doctor or anything and I usually abide by the doctor's orders but it may help to go in the sun, its as if the sun dried up the skin and the salt water probably helped as well. Have your sis talk with a couple of specialists and tell her to mention the sun thing cause it could be dangerous. Good luck to her and I hope that she gets better soon cause its not a pretty thing to have to deal with. If you have any more info on this please keep in touch as I too want to help my cousin.

Red, blotchy skin on foot???
I thought it was athletes feet but its not. I dont know how to describe it, so I guess I will do my best. It has blisters when it oozes and dries up and when I soak it in the bathtub, it becomes red and blotchy. When it is dry, it becomes really itchy. It is located on the inner arch, on the left foot. I have had this on my foot for about 3-4 months. I have no insurance, so I am not able to see a doctor. It is not caused by my shoes because my shoes are not new. I have used Cortisone 10 for the itchiness, and I have tried other cream medications but to no avail. it doesn't go away! Any Suggestions????

im on study abroad right now, and ive been living here for 4 months but 3 days ago this happened for 1st time. i entered my room and sat on the bed and my arms were itching and they got a red raised bump, and then i got some in random places like my neck. but it wasnt so bad that day. the next day i entered myt room but didnt sit on the bed yet, and my whole body was itching and i decided to scratch the itches, but after i did that i couldnt stop and everything started to get so red and the bumps got raised. during that time i got crazy and took everything off and i took a warm shower and after that i felt so good and everything went away. now if i enter the room i get itchy and get a bump or red but if i itch it it created a bumb where i itched....i dont have acess to hospital here please help me what is this!!! i have to sleep in the room its all i have here please...

Clean your bedding, sheets, blankets, pillow cases on a regular basis with this liquid which kills dust mites or if you can afford it, use very hot water and while you're at it, throw in any drapes, cloths you have hanging there. If there are throw pillows, get rid of them as they are dust collectors. If you have cloth fabric on furniture, use a warm cloth and go over the entire surface. You need to do this on a regular basis as it doesn't go away. Vaccuuming is another essential. Some people wipe the walls down (if you have wall coverings, I'd strongly recommend this). The less fabric coverings you have in the room, the better.
I hope this works for you. What you have are hives, allergic reaction to something and since you don't reacte anywhere except the bedroom, then the biggest culprit is dust mite, nothing an industrious cleaning can't improve.

There can be a few things. It may be your dogs diet-if the food doesn't have the proper nurtients in it the dog may have really dry skin-there for the itching and scratching-which leads to the hair loss. I have a lab who I have to feed scrambled eggs 2/3 times a week and every so often i put a teaspoon of sunflower oil in with his food. This helps his dry skin and his coat. If this doesn't work he might have hotspots-contact your vet and they will be able to give you some ointment to put on them. They MIGHT also have something at a local pet store. Be sure not to bath your dog often..once every few months is perfect. The shampoo/water drys thier skin out.
Reply:It can be a number of things...mange and/or allergies is the first thing that pops into my head. You will need to have a skin scraping done..the vet will take a tiny sample from you dog and observe it under a microscope for any parasites. Mange can be treated if caught on time.
The vet may want to switch your dog's food, to see if that is the prblem, or he/she may even prescribe some antihistamines, it all depends.
One last thing, it could be hot spots...if these are shaved and cleaned, they usually heal on their own.

Reply:one of the main things i have found that cause that would be ring worm the best thing to do is take him to the vet and have him evaluated then he will be given a treatment that will stop that!!!

Reply:Like someone else said, it can be due to a number of things and you should have an evaluation/exam done by a qualified vet. Sometimes contact allergies are the cause, but more often you see dogs with food allergies present like this and dogs that have flea allergy. Dogs are most commonly allergic to grains in dog food and you might try a dog food such as EVO (made by Natura) that has no grains. If fleas are the problem, do a search and decide what flea control product would work best for you. I, personally, prefer Advantage for my three dogs.

Reply:I pd $3200 for a solid white english bulldog and when she was less than a yr my husband bathed her in AXE shampoo. Needless to say.... all of her fell out. I had this bald, pink fat dog. Anyhoo.... took her to the vet and he put this collar on her. Looked like a generic flea collar, but it worked. We now only bathe her w/baby shampoo.
I suggest you call the local vet and get some professional advise. Doesn't sound very good, but then again it could be really simple!
Reply:My dog has the same problem. It could be many different things. But i think she was allergic to fleas! I gave her a bath in flea shampoo and her hair started growning back! I have a chocolate lab and someone else said the same thing was wrong with their lab, they took theirs to the vet.
Reply:This happened to my Sassy a few months ago. She had a little bald spot just in front of her left ear. I took her to the vet and had a skin scraping test plus an allergy shot that cost ,in total, $80. The test was negative (of course). A few weeks went pass and nothing happened. Didn't clear up or anything. The all of a sudden it went away on it's own. But just to be sure, you should take your love in to be checked out. You never know. Good luck!
Reply:Take your dog to the vet to be assessed. I did and found out that my beagle had a mite that caused itchiness and hair loss. The vet gave him a dose of flea medication and I gave him another dose a week later. After 2 doses that problem was gone.
Reply:I know with my dog it was caused by letting them eat a low quality food. I switched to an all natural type like California Natural - Lamb and Rice. The lamb and rice it higher in fat so I limited the food I fed her. I also bought Safflower oil ( you can buy it at any grocery store ) and poured a little over her food each day. This cured the problem. I hope that helps you out some, I learned this AFTER i took her to the vet several times and spent over $200!!!!!!!
Reply:Complicated issue = could be food allergy, flea dermatitis, allergy to something in your home or yard.
First thing you need to make sure your dog is on a monthly flea preventative, every month without fail, Frontline, Advantix - ask your vet.
Secondly, feed a good quality dry dog food, with meat the first product, not corn or grain. In other words, no supermarket stuff or Walmart. Read the ingredients on the food, look for meat and no chemicals or fillers.
Then take your dog to your vet and have him checked for any obvious manges or allergies.
There are medications for skin problems, chief of which are mild steroids like prednisone which work very quickly to alleviate the problem, but you still need to get to the root of it.
Benadryl can help with the itching, and is over the counter.
Good luck, keep on this until your dog is comfortable, this can be very irritating to your dog.
Reply:We have a cat in the family that gets like that often and a dog that kind of begins to scratch then forgets to stop. Our vet gives us shots of Pretnazone (spelling???) and it helps tremendously. But ask your vet for best results.
Also be sure your house isn't too dry for them or doesn't have bugs that make them itchy.

What causes skin irritation and hair loss and how do you stop it?
There can be a few things. It may be your dogs diet-if the food doesn't have the proper nurtients in it the dog may have really dry skin-there for the itching and scratching-which leads to the hair loss. I have a lab who I have to feed scrambled eggs 2/3 times a week and every so often i put a teaspoon of sunflower oil in with his food. This helps his dry skin and his coat. If this doesn't work he might have hotspots-contact your vet and they will be able to give you some ointment to put on them. They MIGHT also have something at a local pet store. Be sure not to bath your dog often..once every few months is perfect. The shampoo/water drys thier skin out.
Reply:It can be a number of things...mange and/or allergies is the first thing that pops into my head. You will need to have a skin scraping done..the vet will take a tiny sample from you dog and observe it under a microscope for any parasites. Mange can be treated if caught on time.
The vet may want to switch your dog's food, to see if that is the prblem, or he/she may even prescribe some antihistamines, it all depends.
One last thing, it could be hot spots...if these are shaved and cleaned, they usually heal on their own.

Reply:one of the main things i have found that cause that would be ring worm the best thing to do is take him to the vet and have him evaluated then he will be given a treatment that will stop that!!!

Reply:Like someone else said, it can be due to a number of things and you should have an evaluation/exam done by a qualified vet. Sometimes contact allergies are the cause, but more often you see dogs with food allergies present like this and dogs that have flea allergy. Dogs are most commonly allergic to grains in dog food and you might try a dog food such as EVO (made by Natura) that has no grains. If fleas are the problem, do a search and decide what flea control product would work best for you. I, personally, prefer Advantage for my three dogs.

Reply:I pd $3200 for a solid white english bulldog and when she was less than a yr my husband bathed her in AXE shampoo. Needless to say.... all of her fell out. I had this bald, pink fat dog. Anyhoo.... took her to the vet and he put this collar on her. Looked like a generic flea collar, but it worked. We now only bathe her w/baby shampoo.
I suggest you call the local vet and get some professional advise. Doesn't sound very good, but then again it could be really simple!
Reply:My dog has the same problem. It could be many different things. But i think she was allergic to fleas! I gave her a bath in flea shampoo and her hair started growning back! I have a chocolate lab and someone else said the same thing was wrong with their lab, they took theirs to the vet.
Reply:This happened to my Sassy a few months ago. She had a little bald spot just in front of her left ear. I took her to the vet and had a skin scraping test plus an allergy shot that cost ,in total, $80. The test was negative (of course). A few weeks went pass and nothing happened. Didn't clear up or anything. The all of a sudden it went away on it's own. But just to be sure, you should take your love in to be checked out. You never know. Good luck!
Reply:Take your dog to the vet to be assessed. I did and found out that my beagle had a mite that caused itchiness and hair loss. The vet gave him a dose of flea medication and I gave him another dose a week later. After 2 doses that problem was gone.
Reply:I know with my dog it was caused by letting them eat a low quality food. I switched to an all natural type like California Natural - Lamb and Rice. The lamb and rice it higher in fat so I limited the food I fed her. I also bought Safflower oil ( you can buy it at any grocery store ) and poured a little over her food each day. This cured the problem. I hope that helps you out some, I learned this AFTER i took her to the vet several times and spent over $200!!!!!!!
Reply:Complicated issue = could be food allergy, flea dermatitis, allergy to something in your home or yard.
First thing you need to make sure your dog is on a monthly flea preventative, every month without fail, Frontline, Advantix - ask your vet.
Secondly, feed a good quality dry dog food, with meat the first product, not corn or grain. In other words, no supermarket stuff or Walmart. Read the ingredients on the food, look for meat and no chemicals or fillers.
Then take your dog to your vet and have him checked for any obvious manges or allergies.
There are medications for skin problems, chief of which are mild steroids like prednisone which work very quickly to alleviate the problem, but you still need to get to the root of it.
Benadryl can help with the itching, and is over the counter.
Good luck, keep on this until your dog is comfortable, this can be very irritating to your dog.
Reply:We have a cat in the family that gets like that often and a dog that kind of begins to scratch then forgets to stop. Our vet gives us shots of Pretnazone (spelling???) and it helps tremendously. But ask your vet for best results.
Also be sure your house isn't too dry for them or doesn't have bugs that make them itchy.

Red blotchy skin?
I woke up last nite with red blotches all over my body and feeling really hot, its not itchy and there are no spots im just red all over, i have taken anti histamines but it doesnt seem to being getting better, does anyone think this sounds like an allergic reaction? i have an appointment at the doctors later on but was just wondering if anyone had seen this happen before???

This year I have developed 2 cists, one in my thigh and one in my lower back. The one in my lower back became infected and swelled to the size of a marble, which made this huge red irritated, sore, itchy spot on my back. I had to take medication for it but it was still awful. Why do skin tattoos get irritated when you dye your hair?
my tattoo got irritated and itchy with bumps and it also said this could happen on the box, does anyone have any ideas what causes this?

My pit bull terrier has had terrible skin problems since birth?
She's itchy all over, has hair loss %26amp; rednes,s on belly,neck,legs,even head that even will bleed if she scratches enough. We've had every test known to man done-full allergy bloodwork, testing for mites, fleas, any type of parasite, changed food, food bowls,beds,blankets, shampoo- need I go on?We've literally spent thousands of dollars with no results. I'm not sorry we spent the money because at least things got ruled out but does anyone have any ideas that the vet %26amp; I haven't thought of? Or has someone experienced something similar? We're desparate, I love her but there's no way she can be happy always taking different pills or getting poked or worse being itchy %26amp; uncomfortable for the rest of her life.

He is extremely allergic to chicken and so we changed his food. I had to start checking the labels cause I noticed that even some of the lamb and rice formulas have a little bit of chicken-by-product in them. I even check the labels on on his treats. I can always tell when he has gotten into something he shouldn't have...he breaks out instantly! After we changed his food things got a little better but he was still very itchy. We did more tests and found out he has pollen/outside allergies. When he was young (about 10mths to 3yrs) we had to do seasonal shots. They helped a great deal with the itching and the sores and as he got older (he'll be 5 this DEC.), he seemed to grow out of his outside allergies. We don't do the shots anymore and he hasn't had a breakout in over a year.
It seems like you've tried everything...maybe you need a second opinion?....Try another vet and see what they come up with. There is hope...I know...its awful to go through and to see your dog like this. Hopefully you will find a solution soon....good luck!

Solid gold has alot of good food for allergies, maybe try a venison/rice, or fish and potato, ask your vet about some benadryll, just ask your vet cause it will go by her weight.. Either way i don't foresee no pills, maybe try a steroid like prednisone, or something for inflammation.. But think if there is anything you use in the house it could be affecting her.

Reply:We had this problem (not quite as bad) with our lab and we switched her diet to the B.A.R.F diet. Similiar to the human train of thought healing from the inside. Her coat is beautiful, teeth are white and she is a older dog and a added benefit is that her poop is small. Weird I know but it is smalller because of less filler and waste since commercial dog food is mostly corn and it doesnt smell. I included a website for you. Good Luck

Have you tried a strict elimination diet with her? If so, what kind of proteins and grains did you try?
Have you tried benadryl and has that worked to alleviate her itching for awhile?

Reply:That sounds terrible! I feel sorry for your poor pup. Since you've had all these tests done, you've probably ruled out anything common. And I don't think it's allergies because allergies aren't present from birth. I would try taking her to another vet. I'm sure your vet is good, but sometimes it helps to get a fresh perspective on the situation. Also, I noticed some vets are more dependent on diagnosing diseases by identifying them under microscope, which might help with your dog. Also, have you tried giving your dog steriods or anithistamines for the itching? Steroids stopped my dog's allergy itching. It has to be given with a vet's supervision because it's powerful, but if your dog is in pain, it might help her, even if you don't know what the problem is yet.
Reply:The other posters have very good suggestions regarding food changes, benadryl, etc. Have you been taking her to your regular vet or a dermatology specialist? A dermatology specialist may have some ideas that the regular vet hasn't thought of, so you may want to try that. I don't know where you are, but I could give you a number to the local dermatologist in my area and maybe he would know how to find one in your area... Reply:We had this problem (not quite as bad) with our lab and we switched her diet to the B.A.R.F diet. Similiar to the human train of thought healing from the inside. Her coat is beautiful, teeth are white and she is a older dog and a added benefit is that her poop is small. Weird I know but it is smalller because of less filler and waste since commercial dog food is mostly corn and it doesnt smell. I included a website for you. Good Luck
Reply:Do you have her on Revolution or any other type of flea or tick medication? Some of those combinations are too strong for some dogs.
Have you tried a strict elimination diet with her? If so, what kind of proteins and grains did you try?
Have you tried benadryl and has that worked to alleviate her itching for awhile?

Reply:That sounds terrible! I feel sorry for your poor pup. Since you've had all these tests done, you've probably ruled out anything common. And I don't think it's allergies because allergies aren't present from birth. I would try taking her to another vet. I'm sure your vet is good, but sometimes it helps to get a fresh perspective on the situation. Also, I noticed some vets are more dependent on diagnosing diseases by identifying them under microscope, which might help with your dog. Also, have you tried giving your dog steriods or anithistamines for the itching? Steroids stopped my dog's allergy itching. It has to be given with a vet's supervision because it's powerful, but if your dog is in pain, it might help her, even if you don't know what the problem is yet.
Reply:The other posters have very good suggestions regarding food changes, benadryl, etc. Have you been taking her to your regular vet or a dermatology specialist? A dermatology specialist may have some ideas that the regular vet hasn't thought of, so you may want to try that. I don't know where you are, but I could give you a number to the local dermatologist in my area and maybe he would know how to find one in your area... I have a wool cardigan that is gorgeous but very itchy..?
any tips on how to soften it so I can wear it without wanting to scratch my skin off!!

The best way is to leave it in some fabric softener for a while and one that you do not rinse out after or find something very light weight and fine that you could wear underneath it.
Reply:Fabric softener when washing and perhaps wear a thin cotton top underneath it.
Reply:when you wash put lots of softener in with it. It makes the wool relax a bit.
Reply:Brainlad has it all right though there are other preventative measures such as washing the article separate from the rest and hand wash in lux as this is specially for woollens. It softens the natural oils in the wool thus making the garment more comfortable for the wearer

About a year ago I got a rash on my leg that was red with little bumps, if it was bad enough they'd have pus in them and it was very itchy. I used some Tea Tree oil for it and it helped it go away. Now here is where I get confused...
The rash is on my right shin, and it comes back whenever I were some knee high boots with just normal ankle socks, if I wear nylons or knee high socks my leg is ok. So it must be from my boots, right? No, because I got the same thing on my left forearm, I have 1 spot on my left lower stomach, and 1 spot on my left thigh on the front The spots are small, no larger than a quarter. Except for the one on my shin. Now I think the one on my shin was from my boots, one of my cats peed on it. I wash them several times in vinegar, hot water, soap and finally put some baking soda on it and brushed it off. If it was just an irritant from my boot, then why was it anywhere else?
Also, the other spots were not as itchy or oozing at all. Some type of Dermatitis?

This "sounds like" it could be eczema by the way you describe it and that it turns up in different places on your body.
It will be worth your while to see a Dermatologist for proper treatment and relief.
This link has pictures and some explanations of eczema that you might find helpful. Meantime, try not to scratch it as it just makes things worse by opening those liquid pockets. Try some Calamine Lotion on it, hopefully that will help with the itch until you can see a Dermatologist.
