Bad skin itch all over!?

I'm just curious, I'm always itching, my doc says I'm allergic to dust mites and certain laundry soaps, so its inevitable to be itchy, but is there any way I can ease it off? I usually have baths but I'm having a complicated pregnancy, and my doc said I cannot have baths, and especially when I get into bed the itch is insane and drives me bonkers...I cant fall asleep or anything because of it. what can I do to ease it...help me PLEASE!!

Bad skin itch all over!?
You need to see a dermatologist..and have skin/patch testing done.Try benadryl and a medrol dose pack RX to get relief...but you need to try and find the source..could be dyes in clothes...where white cotton under clothes.
Reply:yes i get this too.

when i get out of the shower the bottom of my feet start to itch when they touch the carpet... cat hair... i'm allergic to cats.

basic allergy meds. clariton.... allegra... zertec...

all the stuff stops working after a while so i have to cycle.

but, with pregnancy, not sure of those are ok to take.

so other than that.

try and replace the items that make you itch. and more sunlight, 50mins trough out the day helps the skin a lot.
Reply:Have you changed your laundry soap? If not, get one with no color and no fragrance, any brand has worked for me. Wash your sheets and your clothes in it. Try a different body wash. Aveeno has a good one for sensitive skin. Apply lotion when you get out of the shower, dermatologists recommend applying lotion within 3 minutes of getting out of the shower. Aveeno has a skin relief lotion that is great-the one with the dark blue label. See a dermatologist if these things don't work, most other docs don't have a clue on how to treat sensitive skin.
Reply:I just had this happen to me last week! It turns out I am allergic to the new body wash I had just purchased a couple weeks before! (Caress Tahitian something-or-another) It took me awhile to figure out that's what it was - I finally started changing things one by one until I found out the cause ( changed laundry soap, fabric softener, lotion, etc.) Try isolating things and see if you can't figure it out going back to when it started happening and see if you can remember if you bought or started using anything new since then. Good luck - it's a horrible feeling!
Reply:OK, I developed a very weird itch during my pregnancy with my first. It was called pustules and papules of pregnancy. ( I kid you not). I went to the dermatologists and none of the creams, lotions or anything else worked. I was going absolutely mad. My gynecologist finally had mercy on me and ordered a type of steroid that is considered safe during pregnancy. I took it until I delivered, and the horrible itching rapidly went away. You might want to check your liver function tests and see if they are elevated (you said you are having a difficult pregnancy), elevation of liver enzymes can cause horrible itching. Good luck, I hope you feel better soon.
