I died my hair last night and today I have a red itchy splotch on the back of neck at the hairline.?

I am pretty sure it is just cause from dryness and the dye sitting on my skin rather than an allergic reaction. However, I can't pull up my hair into a ponytail because it looks awful. Has anyone had this happen, is there a product to soothe my skin quickly that will penetrate to reach the parts under my hair as well? Any ideas would be appreciated!

Gold bond has a medicated itch cream ( it does have a smell, kinda like icy-hot) but its fast relief for dry irritated skin, minor cuts and burns...ect.

You could have a chemical burn from the dye though, this is a bit more severe, and could need medical attention if it doesnt start clearing up soon
Reply:Any lotion with Aloe Vera in it. Stay away from perfumed lotions as it can irritate it even more.

To help with the itching and to reduce the inflammation try something like Benedryl which is available over the counter.
Reply:Most dyes have ceratin additives which react with sensitive skin( like nape of the neck). You should either consult a dermatologist or test out some other variety of dye.
