Skin rash???

My husband is having some sort of outbreak on his body. He doesn't go to the gym or play sports and we haven't changed anything like soap or detergent. It started out yesterday, with small clusterlike bumps on the tops of both feet and under one armpit. Today it has spread all over his arms and hands and up his legs. He is very itchy and freaked out. Anybody know what this could be? He has a doctor's appt. today at 1:30, but I'm freaked out because I'm 17 weeks pregnant. I have no symptoms of any of this. Please advise.

Skin rash???
It very well could be an allergic reaction. Lots of times it's hard to pinpoint what it could be to. Could be heat, anything. Also, you can begin being allergic to anything at anytime although you weren't allergic to it before. Don't worry until the doc gives you a reason to be worried.
Reply:Hives (medically known as urticaria) are red, itchy, raised areas of skin that appear in varying shapes and sizes.

or it could be an allergy you dont know aboit..something in the air or the sun...

poison ivy maybe...
Reply:allergies actually take some time to build up...it's rare to have an allergic reaction to something the first time around. it sounds a little like prickly heat though. u could try some corn starch on it to soothe it. u didn't mention if ur in hot weather...
Reply:If he has a fever, it could be shingles, which is the chicken pox virus becoming active again in his system. Do the clusters have a pattern, like, do the bumps run in straight lines and do they appear to be filled with fluid?

Shingles rash is very distinct, so if not, then it could be a food allergy, or he may have touched some type of poison plant doing yard work or any number of things. In which case, steroids prescribed by the doctor will help.

If it is shingles, it is good he is seeing the doctor, there is only a 3 day window from the onset of symptoms that you can take the medication for it. You can not catch shingles from him.
