any tips on how to soften it so I can wear it without wanting to scratch my skin off!!
I have a wool cardigan that is gorgeous but very itchy..?
The best way is to leave it in some fabric softener for a while and one that you do not rinse out after or find something very light weight and fine that you could wear underneath it.
Reply:Fabric softener when washing and perhaps wear a thin cotton top underneath it.
Reply:when you wash put lots of softener in with it. It makes the wool relax a bit.
Reply:Brainlad has it all right though there are other preventative measures such as washing the article separate from the rest and hand wash in lux as this is specially for woollens. It softens the natural oils in the wool thus making the garment more comfortable for the wearer
Is it Shetland wool...that type of wool causes very itchy skin and wearing a thin cotton tee shirt will be the only way to resolve your problem.
