Pregnant or just dry skin?

I know that a sign of pregnancy can be sensative nipples but what about if they are a little itchy? Would that be considered the same as being sensative? Its been about 6 days since my partner and I had sex, trying to conceive and I wasn't sure if I could be getting any symptoms already. We were together on my most fertile day according to an ovulation calendar.

Pregnant or just dry skin?
I think it is too early to have signs of pregnancy.
Reply:my nipples started itching then hurting when I first became pregnant...that was my first sign
Reply:i have never heard of itchy nipples as a sign of early pregancy but the body does go through so many changes and is differnt for everyone, so if you experience sore boobs and tiredness also, maybe you are pregnant. good luck!!!
Reply:OMG- I am 28 wks prg and my boobs have been itching and flaking for a few weeks now. They leak because sometimes I itch so hard.

You could be. Time will tell.

Im pregnant and my skin became dry ....?

i've asked some mothers %26amp; they said that it normally gets dry and itchy..not just on the tummy..of course i have lotion to prevent it but same thing ..does it have something to do with being pregnant?

Im pregnant and my skin became dry ....?
yep

Drink more water.

Also all the neutrients go to the baby first, which means that your diet must be exellent. You need fatty acids like in avacados, olive oil and other healthy fats. This is not a time to diet. This is the time to eat your best ever. not just for your baby for for yourself.

You can't take care of those you love until you take care of yourself.

Enjoy this time of growing your baby.
Reply:Afraid so. Enjoy . Keep using the lotion.
Reply:are you taking you vitamins
Reply:yes indeed it does..

keep putting on the lotion...coco butter seem to work best for me.. but its a good idea to get ones with lots of vit. E in it.
Reply:You are probably not drinking enough water. When you don't drink enough, the body robs the skin of it first. Particularly in this heat, keep a bottle with you at all times.

Why does my skin turn red and itch when I excersice outside (when it's cold)?

I go running outside in the morning but then I have to stop because my legs get unbearably itchy. It happens when its cold.. its very annoying! Any helpful advice whould be very much appreciated, thank you.

Why does my skin turn red and itch when I excersice outside (when it's cold)?
I have the same thing happen, and I think some posters are misunderstanding the question. We're not concerned about why our skin get chronically (long-term) dry and chapped in the winter months--it's that when our skin is exposed to the cold, it gets red and tingly (which the OP describes as itchy).

My skin gets red in splotches, meaning that my whole arm isn't red, just some spots. The rest of the skin is whiter than normal. So, just because the blood goes toward the surface of the skin doesn't explain it. When I come in from the cold, any exposed skin will have big red blotches on it. After a few minutes, they will start to itch worse and then turn into almost welts, like what you'd get from an insect bite. A couple of times I've nearly gotten a case of hives on my legs (being out in shorts in, say, 45 degree weather) because of the itching. So, I'm wondering why this happens. Thanks.
Reply:OMG. me too!!!!!!!! my pe teacher said it was bcuz the blood is rushing to the skin from the movement or sumthin, so that makes it itchy, and then its red from the blood....weird. yes...i would suggest wearing those breathable sweatpants, theyre actually quite comfy! lol xoxo, caitlyn
Reply:Cold air cools your skin. It holds less moisture than warmer air. That's why in the summer you sweat. In cold air you skin moisture evaporates quicker, causing both redness and an itchy feeling.
Reply:Its the dry weather. It makes your skin dry and that makes your skin itch. Put a lot of lotion on and it will be fine
Reply:because the cold weather dries out your skin and it gets irritated. in the summer that usually doesnt happen because its hot and you sweat which moisturizes your skin but you dont sweat in winter so it makes it dry and sensitive...it happens to most people. good luck!

Organic meds for skin allergies?

i dont know what happened lately, but my legs got really itchy and i got red spots on my left leg..any idea to cure this?. any organic/natural meds you can suggest??

Organic meds for skin allergies?
i think hot compress will be the best cure....
Reply:I recommend Manuka Honey. I have Psoriasis and it calms the itching and helps the spots heal faster. Plus its organic! I posted a website for you to visit in the source section so you can learn more about this great product. I hope that helps!

My tattoo( had for months )has healed but now is raised bumpy red and itchy?Possibly scard?

My doctor told me to use vitamin e cream so im using cocoa butter im mixed race and read that maybe they went do deep because people with darker skin skins more sensative

i dont no what to think is there anything better to use onnit

it looks terrible i have true love writen and the t and the l are really bad because they are the thickest ! on the t are to actual individual red bumps it doesnt really itch anymore

and after i had it done it healed perfectly help!!!

My tattoo( had for months )has healed but now is raised bumpy red and itchy?Possibly scard?
Here are some links to read into ... my tattoos get irritated and raised sometimes ... I scar in a weird way - and usually always get the tiny red ( rash like ) bumps on my sensitive areas after a tattoo ... it should go away with time and you can always get the tattoo touched up or worse case you'll have to get it covered ... hope this helps ... good luck ... !
Reply:As fir the red bumps did your tattoo artist tell you to use cocoa butter or vitamin e doctors don't always know best. It's possible that you put too much on and suffocated the pore causing the tattoo to not be able to heal. You also could be allergic I recommend unscented lotion it works best or some sort of tattoo aftercare.Eucerin works well too of course you want a very thin layer.Unscented lotion works best though.

Can semen cause skin irritation to the out side of the vagina?

My friend had intercourse with her husband the other night and they both feel asleep before cleaning up and she said the next morning she was itchy and sore where his semen was on her.

Is their acids or anything that could cause it? They don't cheat and they both get STD checks regularly.

Can semen cause skin irritation to the out side of the vagina?
It could be an STD, could be something he ate that changed the acidity of it, Ive even heard of women being allergic to their partner's semen

I'd be on the safe side and ask a doctor.
Reply:it might not be the sperm, remember two forms of liquid come out thru there and if he has very strong urine there could be a reaction to the acidity levels just tell her to clean up every time after sex or it could be painful every time.
Reply:most likely it wasn't the sperm it self but the moisture or dampness that gave her the problem..
Reply:NO
Reply:yes it can... have you everseen what semen can do to clothing.. it basically bleaches the spots which have received prolonged exposure to the semen. also ppl can grow allergies to sperm not necessarily break out as soon as it touches them... but just irritation such as.
Reply:I have sensitive skin and have had the very same thing happen to me-I can't explain what caused it-his fluid, mine or a combo but I make sure now to always clean up him %26amp; I b4 dozing off
Reply:she needs to go to her doctor...you're not supposed to itch...
Reply:.

Normal Semen does not cause irritation of any kind

Urine could cause soreness and redness, but not ITCHY.

It's very simple. ITCHY equals STD !!!

She has an STD. She needs to see a doctor immediately.

Why does my skin itch after a bath in a cold country?

It seem like goosebumps, but its smaller and they are itchy, abit red sometimes,

I really need to know!

tHANK YOU! =D

Why does my skin itch after a bath in a cold country?
Low humidity in cold climates causes dry itchy skin, taking baths/showers in hot water and using non-moisturing soaps depletes the natural oils in the skin which can cause a itchy rash...use mild mosturizing soaps like Dove, Neutrogena Dry Skin Formula, Aveeno Cleansing Bar for Dry Skin or Oil of Olay body wash, after a warm bath apply a moisturing lotion, drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated, using a humidifier will also help.
Reply:It's dry. Use lotion.
Reply:The most logical explanation is that your skin is dry because when you bath it takes the moisture out of your skin and in cold countries it is usually dry with no moisture - your skin gets dry in winter.
Reply:maybe theres hair in the tub. that always make meitch in the tub. :)
Reply:Dry skin. It's drier in colder climates, that said it also dries up your skin. Get a good skin lotion after a bath.
Reply:if im not mistaken i think its because they dont have floride in their water. just make sure u use plenty of lotion when u get out. or baby oit whil in the shower.
Reply:Maybe you are allergic in something used in the bath. The soap you use or a different composition of the bath water.( the water in another country probably doesn't have flouride etc.. The U.S. also processes their baths differently than another country. (drinking water and bathing water is purer in U.S.
Reply:That is called eczema (the rashes) and it is exacerbated (made worse) by dry conditions. Moisturizing lotions or creams will help, but sometimes it is beneficial to use cortisone-based creams to alleviate the itching. See a dermatologist, particularly if the outbreaks are patchy and you find yourself scratching to the point of bleeding, and you find that lotions and creams ease but do not eliminate the problem.
Reply:I have the same problem growing up suffering discomfort after each showers or even baths. I grew up in Maine, USA. If you know, its freezing in the winters than most states in USA.

Here is the website I found may interested you and help you understand more and what you can do about it.

http://health.yahoo.com/skinconditions-o...

Extra info:

Is there a special moisturizer to treat extra dry skin on my body in the winter?

The decreasing humidity and colder temperatures of winter can make your skin dryer than usual.

AVEENO® Skin Relief Moisturizing Lotion and AVEENO® Skin Relief Moisturizing Cream are specially formulated to relieve and protect itchy, extra dry skin, and is clinically proven to moisturize for a full 24 hours. http://www.aveeno.com/skinCareFaq.do#3_2
Reply:Flouride in water is not a good thing, and if anything tends to give people I know hives after bathing. Since you don't say what country you're talking about, it's difficult to know. But a lot of European countries do not permit Flouride in their water as unbeknowst to many in our (USA), it is a toxin and is only put in the water as a "dump" meaning they don't know where else to put it. The government worked out a deal and through media, told people it improves your teeth and keeps the germs away. Well, maybe that's why doctors are now telling patients with infants 6 mos and under not to give them water with flouride in it as it can cause problems with their immune system (which are not developed).

It may be that you are sensitive to water or something in the water.

Why does the skin on my feet peel off?

There are blister on my feet that dry up and peel off. It is sometimes itchy and look dry.

Why does the skin on my feet peel off?
try aloe, but you are still going to peel... you have a 2nd degree burn it will need time to heal.
Reply:No, it' not a burn, unless you actually did burn yourself. It's just dead skin. This happens to everyone at some point. Think about everything we put our feet through during the day. We do alot to them. Its just shedding the dead skin. Report It

Reply:Tried anythingfor athletes foot? Try some lamisil.
Reply:it could be the conditions your feet are exposed to in your daily life like inproper shoe ventilation or wteness but be safe consult a doctor not us iternet wakos
Reply:Make sure you have no open cuts or anything else. If you have a foot sized tub, use 1/2 cup of bleech in water to cover your feet %26amp; toes. If you have to use the bathtub, use 1 cup.

This is probably a fungus of some sort. I get them all the time in summer %26amp; they go away after I do this! I do it several times a year. As long as you have no open cuts or athlets foot open sores, you will be fine. It kills all fungus.
Reply:I would think that maybe you are part anaconda, and try Udder Balm, if you can not find it elsewhere, try your local Farm and Fleet or Tractor Supply Store.
Reply:My feet and palms used to do that when I was young. It gradually stopped.

I would suggest using Gold Bond powder in your shoes, and don't use anything with aloe in it, because it makes me peel when I use it.
Reply:I have the same problem, that just started a few months ago. I observed it in my older brother a few years ago, but never took much concern about it.

I have been trying to figure out what's the cause, and still doing the a quest about it.

May be it is related to the habit of putting on shoes and socks most of the time, that result into the feet sweating, with less aeration. Am not sure whether friction is related to it.

However i can not rule out the possibility of microbes interplay in the pealing of that skin around the feet (not on the top (pedis)) just on the sides and the sole.

I find myself scrapping off the dead skin but after a few weeks, the dead skin appears again.

let me know what you find out. thanks.
Reply:ATHLETES FOOT= OVER THE COUNTER MEDICINE THROW AWAY SHOES CLEAN SOCKS EVERY DAY KEEP FEET DRY %26amp; CLEAN
Reply:maybe it's just dead skin

Murad vs sensitive skin?

I've recently started using the murad acne complex ... It seemed to clean well but the next day I woke up with like a chemical burn all over red, itchy, burning , dry and sore to the touch?? should I stop ? It states that if redness apears to use once to every other day to begin and work up from there?? I'm afraid to try again who knows what will happen??

Murad vs sensitive skin?
I just bought the Acne Complex today and used it tonight. I have sensitive skin too...I can't believe you had that kind of reaction to it. It came highly recommended by the people at Sephora. Are you possibley allergic to salicylic acid or the sulphur in the spot treatment?

I have a friend that uses proactive, but she only uses one product at a time...she likes them all individually, but not all at the same time. You might try just using the cleanser and moisturizer for a while.

Bumps on my skin??

ok, so as long as i can remember ive had these tiny little bumps along the sides of my cheeks, you cant see them and theyre not itchy or anything, jsut bumps, ive tried many different products and at first it will make them go away but after about a week of using it the bumps will just come back.....any suggestions?

Bumps on my skin??
Yes, make an appointment with a dermatologist.
Reply:i used to have that on my arm. just ask your doctor and they'll recommend a cream. thats what they did 4 me anyway.
Reply:You should likely visit a dermatologist. It seems that these aren't moles or freckles or any kind of permanent skin formations the way you're describing them. I'm guessing you might have some kind of skin sensitivity or allergy.

What color, texture, size, quantity of bumps do you have????
Reply:It sounds like they are whiteheads. I had a roommate from college who had the same problem and decided to invest in the Clarisonic brush after nothing else worked. It costs $195, but she says it is the best investment and only product that has ever got rid of all her whiteheads. They even have a 30-day money back guarantee. I personally bought one a few months ago and love it! It makes your skin feel very clean and refreshed, and I've found that it lessens the appearance of scars quicker than using facial peels.
Reply:if you had them since birth like i have on my thighs and arms, then you will never get rid of them. if you starting seeing this around teenage years, then maybe a dermatologist would know the answer.
Reply:girl thats sound just like me i used to have those bumps too. well i used this one cream called madrma (i think that is how it is spelled) so girl if that does not work i don't know!?
Reply:I had the same problem. I forget what it's called. Visit your dermatologist. They'll give you a cream, my skin eventually stopped responding to the cream and you have to use it every day or else it will come back.
Reply:go to the doctor

Started as a skin rash now broken out?

A couple of days ago, my husband started complaining that he was turning red all over and really itchy. Well, now he has broken out with little zits all over especially on his chest. Any ideas of what this might be?

Started as a skin rash now broken out?
could be a gazillion things--poison ivy, poison oak, sumac, psychoris, scabies, plain old allergic reaction. he needs to go to the dr.
Reply:It could be an allergic reaction to something.

Red bumps on skin, swelling of lips and tongue??

About a week ago, my bottom lip started swelling in class.. a few hours later the swelling went down but moved to the other side of my bottom lip.. then the top lip swelled up on the side.. this happened again yesterday but only my upper lip. Also, last night my tongue swelled up at the tip but on the right side.. then that went down and swelled up on the left! Now, I came back from school and there are really itchy red bumps in my underarms, my back, tummy, and inner thighs. I played soccer for PE today and was really sweaty.. so could this mean it was because of my sweat? Or is it because I used an anti-perspirant? I've taken an anti-histimene.. Thanks in advance! =]

Red bumps on skin, swelling of lips and tongue??
sounds like you are having an allergic reaction, swollen tounge is nothing to play with, it can harm your ability to breath, is the deo a new brand, did you get bitten or stung by something, if it continues to happen go to the Dr. asap, but antihistamine is the right thing to do at this point
Reply:Sounds like hives. An allergy. Could be something viral (herpes) .

If it continues, see a doctor soon and get some labs.

Swelling around the mouth can be very dangerous. If it spreads and gets into the throat, you can get into breathing problems fast.
Reply:you are allergic to it stop using it
Reply:Sounds like an allergic reaction . If the anti-histamine like Benadryl is not helping you should consult a doctor. You should also try to find out if there is a common denominator are you using a new soap or eating something new right before this happens if so stop using it and see if your symptoms persist.
Reply:Report to a doctor immediately before the infection spreads to your throat and intestines.

I have a skin problem, what do you think it is?

I have 4 red spots on my legs, about the size of a nickel, they seem dried out, red and sometimes itchy. they are also spreading, i now have one on my arm.

I have a skin problem, what do you think it is?
If persists go t oa doctor and see if you can get anything for it. Seeing as it has already spread then I'd go fairly soon.
Reply:sounds like posion ivy.
Reply:it could be ring worm, ive had it before. Its easy to get rid of. If you could buy some t-tree oil it works great!
Reply:you have been contracted w/ something serious especially if it's spreading that rapidly, i would get off this computer if i were you and rush to the hospital....
Reply:It maybe Herpes and if is Herpes you must be very sensitive right know in the place of the spots, what I mean is that this red spots nickel sized are sensitive by touching, by putting your pants or sweater and the contact of the pants or sweater to the spots makes you more sensitive and also sensitive my moving the affected areas!

Why is my skin like this????

Lately, my arm has been very itchy, especially my right arm. Every time i scratch it, it leaves these bump looking things wherever i scratch. And it won't go away!!! What is it???

Why is my skin like this????
poison ivy
Reply:might be excema
Reply:bugbite
Reply:ok don't panic... first goto a drug store and get some exima creme and then apply it as directed... and ivce had it b4 to i should know
Reply:They...are retards. Try codizone or a different type of anti-itch oitment. If it has no effect consult a doctor about it and they might have some type of perscription for it.
Reply:Heat rash. My hubby gets this as soon as the weather starts to get nice.
Reply:poison ivy maybe? If it gets worst just go to your doctor see what he might say to be on the safe side.
Reply:It sounds like hives, do they itch intensely or turn into welts. Try an antihistamine.
Reply:Maybe you have dry skin. Is it red and bumpy, especially around the elbow joint area? If so, it may be eczema. Keep the area moisturized with fragrance-free lotion, and go to the doctor just in case.
Reply:The best treatment in the elimination of acne is to clean the skin by some medicated cleansers.

A cleanser removes the sweat, make-up, accumulated oil and dirt on the surface of the skin.

These cleansers makes easy for the topical acne treatments to absorb in the skin and too much use of these cleansers can result into irritated dry skin. So, these acne cleansers should be applied only once and twice daily.

Vigorous washing and scrubbing the skin can make the acne worse.

Why does my skin itch after a bath in a cold country?

It seem like goosebumps, but its smaller and they are itchy, abit red sometimes,

I really need to know!

tHANK YOU! =D

Why does my skin itch after a bath in a cold country?
You may be allergic to something like the soap, or what is used to clean the tubs, or even laundry detergent.
Reply:During cold weather, the skin becomes dry and more prone to allergens, etc. that can cause itchiness to the skin. You can also try to check if you are allergic to your bath additive or maybe try to change your bathing additive. I've read that bathing in dead sea salts can help cure common skin problems so maybe you can try that one out: http://www.sfbsc.com/bath-salt-blog/view...

I have a Chiuaua/Dotson Mix?

Everytime I bath her she itches uncontrolably. She digs so much at the bottom of her legs that her hair is starting to thin. I have bought her special oatmeal shampoo and itchy skins meds, but it just doesn't seem to be helping. Does anyone know what this could possible be. Or how to treat it or what to do? Thanks!

I have a Chiuaua/Dotson Mix?
~two issues:

1) stress/being nervous about the bath. When she stresses, the blood flow in her skin works over time and causes her to scratch uncontrollably.

2) when you bathe the little cutie-pie, you are stripping her skin of the protective oils it desperately needs to keep it healthy so it doesn't dry out - dry skin causes her to itch/scratch like crazy!

Just stop bathing her. Dogs clean themselves well enough. If you give her a chance, her oil will re-coat her skin and fur, and she can heal herself. If you really feel that she needs a bath, take her to a professional, and tell them ahead of time about her issues.

God bless you both Sweetheart. :)
Reply:TAKE HER TO THE VET SHE COULD HAVE A SKIN INFECTIONS OR FLEAS
Reply:poor doggy. its skin itches and its owner can't even spell its breed name. take her to the vet.
Reply:It sounds like some kind of allergy. Take her to the vet so he can properly diagnose and treat the problem. Also I don't know how often you bathe her, but you should not do it over once a month.
Reply:I also have a dachshund and the vet said that they are very prone to allergies. She instructed me to give her 1/4 of a 25mg benedryl twice a day. I would check with your vet first but it is working and she is a miniature (8lbs) and the dosage seems to be alright. Also, I asked the vet about how often to bath her and as long as you aren't using medicated shampoos you can do it every week, if you are using medicated shampoo then you need to stretch it out to every other week at least.
Reply:Before you give drugs to treat the allergy, it is better to determine the cause of it. Dachsies are notorious for having sensitive skin; I am not sure about Chis however.

Try a quality food like Canidae. Nothing with corn or wheat, which causes and exacerbates allergies. (no grocery store brands in other words)

1/4 cup twice a day should be plenty for a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix (note proper spellings there!)

Too many baths will aggravate the problem. Bathing dries the skin out. Once a month should be sufficient for the little one.
Reply:Sounds like allergies or fleas. A vet can help with medications if needed. A change in food to a hypoallergenic food (such as California Natural) can help. Also use Advantage or Frontline Plus every month religiously to control fleas.

Oh and you have a chihuahua/dachshund mix.
Reply:The problem is your Chihuahua is mixed with a car.

Look up what year it was made and contact the dealer to see if it is still under warrentee.

Maybe you just need to change the oil.

Irritated patches of skin??

The crooks of my elbows get very red and itchy during the winter. After the irritation subsides the patches become discolored and remain this way even during the summer when the rest of my body tans. Any suggestion as to what this is or what I can do to prevent it?

Irritated patches of skin??
This sounds like Eczema a common allergic skin rash. Buy some 1% hydrocortizone ointment from the pharmacy and apply it twice a day. It should be all cleared up in no time.
Reply:i have this..theres a special cream i use..but i forgot the name.it will help but not cure it!good luck!

I have this skin/disease problem..?

i had it like last year and this year i have it again...it looks like a mosquito bite but it won't go away and its on my back,my hand and mostly at my legs..its very itchy and theres one bite that comes out water if i poke it abit...so anyone knows what is the problem....i went to the doctor and even he doesn' t know what causes this and i think its not allergies cause i went to school and came back right after it yesterday

I have this skin/disease problem..?
it sounds like some kind of rash to me. Are you using some kind of new stuff on your skin?
Reply:do you have pets? could it be fleas? what about bed bugs?
Reply:hey that might be a scabies because it itches a lot, i use to have during my teens and if it is scabies you must use seperate soap, towels etc and should be very clean. Go to your Dr again and see what he can do.

All the best.
Reply:It may be shingles, or a type of sytemic herpes rash. See if your doctor can give you some medication for it. If not, try calamine lotion. Perhaps it is a contact allergy or dermatitis. try benadryl and see if that clears it up.

I am not a doctor and these are only my personal thoughts. It is really best to see a doctor who can diagnose and prescribe or tell you what over the counter meds will work best.
Reply:I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is a condition of re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses , that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there.

Here is a link :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradeniti...

If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC.

Its better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated. These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are but definately not limited to armpits, groin, binkni line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rub against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

There is some support groups at MSN

and yahoo, and I am open for questions!

I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, It was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did.

I also prefer to use NEXCARE bandages.. there are 2 kinds I like for comfort and stay put reasons..

the first is like a clear bandaid.... soft on the edges with a small area of bandage... helps with those buggers when they are on bikni line.. usually stay for me.. or occasionally on my inner thigh for those I like the foamy sponge like ones that are beige in color.. I think they are some 3M.

Red splotches on skin?

My fiance has developed red splotches on his stomach/hip area. They are not itchy, they are not raised at all. He has no known allergies and nothing has changed as far as laundry soap, or foods he has eaten. They seem to appear on random. Any clues as to what this could be?

Red splotches on skin?
Maybe you have sex with him so much he gets rashes. Or maybe he is allergic to you. hahahahhaha.

Just kidding, a mean joke.
Reply:Could be the skin changing. I'm not sure really, has he seen a doctor?

Could be a rash, not all rashes are itchy.

Can stress cause skin irritations?

My neck keeps breaking out in dry itchy patches and I'm thinking maybe it's stress.

Can stress cause skin irritations?
Eczema(skin irritation) can flare up when you are under stress. Learn how to recognize and cope with stress. Stress reduction techniques can help. Changing your activities to reduce daily stress can also be helpful
Reply:Yup, you've probably got hives- which are VERY related to stress.
Reply:it's possible
Reply:yes. hives, whelps, and rashes.
Reply:Yes skin reacts to stress in a lot of ways; hives, rashes etc...usually you just have to apply some cream or calamine lotion. Sometimes your doctor can prescribe steroids that will help.
Reply:yes. my friend always gets those too from stress. i always get zits when i'm stressed.
Reply:yeah so get stress off yo mind and hit me up so i can telll you what to do to get stress off your mind
Reply:Stress can cause almost any physical ailment you can think of.
Reply:last time my neck did that , I was using a new face cleanser not even on my neck, but my neck is where I reacted. when I stopped washing my face with it , my neck quit doing that.
Reply:are you in a cold place? wearing a heavy coat esp wool may be rubbing you.

I get cronic winter skin on my legs due to the dryness of running a heater. I use a humidfider to help put moister back into the air. Try Useing Sally Hanson dry skin remover(find around nail polish section at cvs drugs. white and orange packaging. ) Have your skin dry and rub till it feels better then

take warm shower and dry off then try a good quality lotion or johonson creamy baby lotion really helps me I have tried around 30 lotions and this is the best value and works well.

do this a few times then weekly and see if its better. if not try going to the DR to get something stronger.
Reply:Absolutely.... Use moisturizers daily and 1 valium, that's what I did and it went away... It's easier than shooting your spouse...
Reply:Yes stress is the bigest enemy of our health.
Reply:In higher organisms the allergic response may be cause of irritation. An allergen is defined distinctly from an irritant, however, as allergy requires a specific interaction with the immune system and is thus dependant on the (possibly unique) sensitivity of the organism involved while an irritant, classically, acts in a non-specific manner.

In humans, it is a mild form of suffering, often with anger about this, in particular, if applicable, anger at the person who caused it. This can also be oneself, e.g. when forgetting something or doing something one deems to be stupid.

It is a form of stress, but conversely, if one is stressed by unrelated matters, mild imperfections can cause more irritation than usual, one is irritable; see also sensitivity (human).

In more basic organisms, assigning irritation the status of pain is the perception of the being stimulated - which is not observable although it may be shared (see gate control theory of pain).

Is this a skin disease of some sort..?
hi, firstly dont worry, i think they are just spot's, my son had a similar thing and he was told they were nothing to worry about they are spots/systs (just like you get anywhere else)nothing to worry about, if they become sore or inflamed you will be able to get creams from the doctors but if they are not sore, keep the area clean and dry and just ignore them and they will go away :-)
Reply:These may be caused by a fungal infection. Which means you will need to get either some yeast infection medication or some athletes foot medication and rub it on the sores for a week or two.

Otherwise it could be caused by shaving that area. After you shave that area you get pimples there.

The pimples from shaving will go away on their own.
Reply:I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean or over weight and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there if you are looking.

If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC.

It’s better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated. These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, bikini line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rubs against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

I am open for questions!

I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, and it was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did.

Currently I have 5, 2 next to each other on my right inner groin. 2 in my upper HAIR area, and 1 med sized on my butt on the panty line, and they do come every week or so. I find that certain foods, not having a regular showering regimen, wearing clothing that irritates the area.. And STRESS usually is a precursor to getting one.

and YES thongs and TIGHT jeans will definately irratate the area... when I have some I can only wear slacks or strechy pants.... ughhhhhhhhhhh!!

I also prefer to use NEXCARE bandages.. There are 2 kinds I like for comfort and stay put reasons..

The first is like a clear band aid.... soft on the edges with a small area of bandage... helps with those buggers when they are on bikini line.. Usually stay for me.. Or occasionally on my inner thigh for those I like the foamy sponge like ones that are beige in color.. I think they are 3M.

I have a skin condition?
There is no known cure for this condition as of yet. I had it as a young child but it disappeared in my high school years. I did find some relief by simply using baby oil all over those areas directly after soaking in a hot bath to open the pores.

I think I have a skin allergy??

I ate some sea food a week ago, and that same night that I ate the seafood, my stomach started to feel really itchy. Within the next few days, I started to see a red rash, and now, my rash is starting to scab up and it has a white ring around the red scabs, and a large red ring (covering almost my who stomach) but the big red circle is not itchy. I would go to a doctor, but i dont have insurance...what do you think I should do?? my dad said to put vinager on it...??? please...any input is apprecated...:)

I think I have a skin allergy??
Well, you definitly have a skin infection.I would go to your pharmacy and make the pharmasit give you a skin cream he/she reccomends.
Reply:You definately have a skin infection. You really shold go to the doctor because it might be dangerous.
Reply:Take some benadryl (or Zyrtec) before bedtime, if the rash looks like its healed some during the night, you may have an allergy and I'd recommend keeping on the benadryl until your stomach clears. This may take a few days to totally clear up.

If the benadryl does nothing, and it looks like its getting worse. You might could try a cortizone cream, antibiotic cream or wash it with peroxide, but I'd really recommend that you see a doctor.

Don't put vinegar on it though as its most likely won't do anything and will probably hurt/burn... and could make things worse.

My cat never goes out, but he just developed a pink itchy rash by his mouth and ears - what could it be?

When I found him as a kitten, he had a herpes eye infection, which flares up when he's stressed. Could something like this manifest on his skin? It's around one ear, one side of his mouth and under his chin. It's very pink, not oozy but a little crusty looking. Plus a scab by his ear, from scratching I think. He NEVER goes outside, and my other cat shows no signs of the problem, so I'm thinking ... allergy? My vet is closed today - I am taking him tomorrow - but in the meantime, it's driving me crazy. Thank you!

My cat never goes out, but he just developed a pink itchy rash by his mouth and ears - what could it be?
If not any of the above answers,...is he eating/drinking out of a plastic bowl/dish?

Some cats are allergic to plastic,.. try a glass, ceramic one.

Gd. luck
Reply:Does he wear a flea collar? My cat had some irritation from wearing one - we took it off and he's healed nicely.

The herpes usually only effects the eye and can give them a cold, but it doesn't usually spread to the skin.

It could definitely be a food allergy too - some cats are allergic to grains and/or chicken. You might want to upgrade his food - try canned Wellness - it's grain free and high in protein, which is really good for cats.

I'm glad you're checking with the vet - good luck!

Prurigo Nodularis, a skin condition due to emotional traumas. Any cures for this?
Sorry, there is no specific treatment for this. It is a matter of finding what works for you. Medicine already knows that it is nervous and mental conditions that cause the itchy lumps so you must get to the root of what is causing your nervousness or mental condition.

To try to control the itching, doctors usually prescribe very potent steriod creams. Antihistamine creams or pills can be ordered for extra relief. If those don't work, anti-depressants may help. Severe cases or those that are resistant can be treated with cryotherapy (freezing of the spots).

you shouldn't ask a medicine from here. go see a dermatologist. ones medicine might not fit your skin.
Reply:Benedryl
Reply:go to the doctor... if it is an allergic reation it could be very serious since its on your face... it could spread into your mouth and down your throat.... go to the doc and get it fixed
Reply:Since you have no idea what is causing the reaction, you should probably go to your doctor. Allergies like this worsen over time. In the meantime, Benadryl started making quick dissolve strips. I used them last year when I had a reaction (to the acid in raw tomato ... go figure); they work quickly since they are being absorbed as soon as you put it on your tongue. At the very least, it helps with the swelling, redness and any itching.

Good luck!

What are these red blotches on my skin?

I just noticed them yesterday as I was eating McDonald's. It's been awhile since I've eaten from McDonald's - could that have been the cause of it? Also I just recently got my wisdom teeth removed (about a week ago) and I've been taking demerol (for like the first 3-4 days which I started on July 19) and antibiotics (since July 19 and ended yesterday). I was outside for a good portion of the day (for about four hours) and it wasn't until the third to fourth hour that I noticed the spots. They itched a litttle when I first noticed them, but now that I put lotion on it - it's not itchy. Also my hands seem itchy too, and strangely dry at the same time.

I've provided some pics:

What are these red blotches on my skin?
You have hives. It could be an allergic reaction to your medications, or an interaction with the sun and your meds. Stay out of the sun, and treat the hives by taking an antihistamine (oral or cream but NOT BOTH) and put some gel that's for sunburns on it (it's usually green or blue). The gel helps numb it, and helps to dry it up. Any tightness in the chest or throat or difficulty breathing then you will need to get to the ER ASAP.
Reply:its prob. a reaction to the demerol. sometimes one can kind of break out in a heat rash when taking a pain killer usually containing hydrocodon or codine such as vicodin, tylenol 3, percocet..etc.

-What are the possible side effects of Demerol?

• If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking Demerol and seek emergency medical attention or contact your doctor immediately:

· an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives);

· slow, weak breathing;

· seizures;

· cold, clammy skin;

· severe weakness or dizziness; or

· unconsciousness.

if you have been taking this medication for at least 5 days do not stop cold turkey because it can cause withdrawls so you need to steadily lower your dose every day.

it gets really painfull and itchy when it gets wet and she has to use creams and oils after getting out of the shower she is very self consciouse about wearing clothes that will expose her arms and legs (where it mainly is) and she does not go swimming anymore even though she used to always. it's really starting to get her down and i want to help her but i dont know wat to do has anyone ever had this and did it eventuallt go away

My sister suffers from really dry skin which looks like little red spots all over her skin?
I used to get that way in the winter time and still do if I am outside when it's windy. Can't really diagnose her condition though as there are alot of skin conditions and some will respond to certain treatment while others will not.

I would suggest using a fragrance-free bath soap and lotion for starters,She can also try bathing in Aveeno SKIN RELIEF BATH TREATMENT It comes in a box and is sold in Pharmacys.

Also have her increase the amount of water she drinks, healing from the inside out, so to speak =)

I posted a link down below where she can get information that might help her.

Good Luck
Reply:Its probably exema (sp) check out webMD, they might have some suggestions or she might need to see a doctor.
Reply:She needs to go see a dermatologist! She should also have her thyroid checked! If your thyroid is not right, that can produce rash like you described. But I'd do the derm. 1st. Good Luck!
Reply:its probally an alergic reaction to water

i have alergic rections to metal if i wear it to long on my stomach
Reply:what she should try is ... showering with baby oil... okay what she should try to do is... before showering.. get in the shower... run the water.. get her body all wet and then rub baby oil allllll over... leave it sitting and then wash it off... then do it again... of course its oil and its not going to all the way come off so it will leave her moisterized... then she shoudl take a showr so she doesnt' smell liek baby oil of course.. and hten mix her lotion with a little bit of baby oil... it really works.... when i got back from iraq my skin was really dry and thats what the doctor told me to do.. try it!.. good luck! :)
Reply:if you live in a warm or hot country then your sister most probably has a heat rash.
Reply:Try Cetaphil, you can find it in Walgreens, use the soap bar and the body lotion.
Reply:That poor thing! My cousin has the same problem with her skin...it appeared outta the blue. She went to many different doctors and no one could give her a straight answer. She finally saw a specialist and found out that it is a rare type of Psoriasis. They also gave her cream and skin rubs and told her to stay out of the sun. She's had it now for about 6 months and it hasn't gone away. Then she mentioned to my uncle (who too had the same skin irritations all over his body) and he told her that the day he went to Mexico and spent time in the sun it already started to go away. By the time he got home it was gone and has not come back since. Im not a doctor or anything and I usually abide by the doctor's orders but it may help to go in the sun, its as if the sun dried up the skin and the salt water probably helped as well. Have your sis talk with a couple of specialists and tell her to mention the sun thing cause it could be dangerous. Good luck to her and I hope that she gets better soon cause its not a pretty thing to have to deal with. If you have any more info on this please keep in touch as I too want to help my cousin.
Reply:She needs to go to a dermo. They will tell her what it is and prescribe an effective treatment!

Red, blotchy skin on foot???

I thought it was athletes feet but its not. I dont know how to describe it, so I guess I will do my best. It has blisters when it oozes and dries up and when I soak it in the bathtub, it becomes red and blotchy. When it is dry, it becomes really itchy. It is located on the inner arch, on the left foot. I have had this on my foot for about 3-4 months. I have no insurance, so I am not able to see a doctor. It is not caused by my shoes because my shoes are not new. I have used Cortisone 10 for the itchiness, and I have tried other cream medications but to no avail. it doesn't go away! Any Suggestions????

Red, blotchy skin on foot???
Eczema my son has it and i didnt know what it was i thought it was just a rash until i took him to the Dr. and they said it was a mild case of Eczema or however you spell it. You say its not athletes feet but it can get real bad to where you itch till it bleeds and blisters. Good Luck though i had athletes foot when i was younger with the same case get some powder at the store and go without your shoes at home and it should dry it up. But you need to change the soles of your shoes because it is just making it worse. here is some info i found on a site for youWhat are the symptoms of athlete’s foot?

Most commonly, people experience the typical symptoms of athlete’s foot:

Itching, most notably in the creases between your toes

Redness and scaling of the skin in affected areas

Cracked or blistered skin.

and also you can go to this site it tells you what products to buy or natural ways to cure it. www.littleuglybottle.com

Good luck with it all
Reply:I had the same thing on the palms of my hands. The doc said it was eczema. I had never heard of this on your hands but I used the cortisone cream, tried not to itch and took benedryl (that helped lots). Eventually it just went away. I still have a small spot on my hand but it is almost gone. I treated the symptoms and nothing really worked 100 percent of the time.

Is this skin allergy? help me!!?
It could be dust mites. You've been building up an intolerance for it for months, but the best solution would be to make the room as sparse as possible. Clean your bedding, sheets, blankets, pillow cases on a regular basis with this liquid which kills dust mites or if you can afford it, use very hot water and while you're at it, throw in any drapes, cloths you have hanging there. If there are throw pillows, get rid of them as they are dust collectors. If you have cloth fabric on furniture, use a warm cloth and go over the entire surface. You need to do this on a regular basis as it doesn't go away. Vaccuuming is another essential. Some people wipe the walls down (if you have wall coverings, I'd strongly recommend this). The less fabric coverings you have in the room, the better.

I hope this works for you. What you have are hives, allergic reaction to something and since you don't reacte anywhere except the bedroom, then the biggest culprit is dust mite, nothing an industrious cleaning can't improve.

What causes skin irritation and hair loss and how do you stop it?

my dog is really itchy and has bald spots

What causes skin irritation and hair loss and how do you stop it?
There can be a few things. It may be your dogs diet-if the food doesn't have the proper nurtients in it the dog may have really dry skin-there for the itching and scratching-which leads to the hair loss. I have a lab who I have to feed scrambled eggs 2/3 times a week and every so often i put a teaspoon of sunflower oil in with his food. This helps his dry skin and his coat. If this doesn't work he might have hotspots-contact your vet and they will be able to give you some ointment to put on them. They MIGHT also have something at a local pet store. Be sure not to bath your dog often..once every few months is perfect. The shampoo/water drys thier skin out.
Reply:It can be a number of things...mange and/or allergies is the first thing that pops into my head. You will need to have a skin scraping done..the vet will take a tiny sample from you dog and observe it under a microscope for any parasites. Mange can be treated if caught on time.

The vet may want to switch your dog's food, to see if that is the prblem, or he/she may even prescribe some antihistamines, it all depends.

One last thing, it could be hot spots...if these are shaved and cleaned, they usually heal on their own.
Reply:It cd be food allergy but then it cd be because of shedding during summer and they itch when they shed, and because of that there may be spots because the new fur is not out yet.How old is your dog and how long has this been going on?
Reply:one of the main things i have found that cause that would be ring worm the best thing to do is take him to the vet and have him evaluated then he will be given a treatment that will stop that!!!
Reply:This could be many things. It could be that he is allergic to something or maybe has mange or fleas. If he is very itchy, then give him a brush and sit down with him when he is tired and relaxed. Search his hair and then maybe it would be best to go to the vets.
Reply:stop leting you dog in and out of the house when the air is on pluse you dog mite have a allergey take it to the vet
Reply:Like someone else said, it can be due to a number of things and you should have an evaluation/exam done by a qualified vet. Sometimes contact allergies are the cause, but more often you see dogs with food allergies present like this and dogs that have flea allergy. Dogs are most commonly allergic to grains in dog food and you might try a dog food such as EVO (made by Natura) that has no grains. If fleas are the problem, do a search and decide what flea control product would work best for you. I, personally, prefer Advantage for my three dogs.

Good luck with your dog - I know it's upsetting to see them in this condition.
Reply:hotspots. We went to walmart and they have this stuff in the dog section its a yellow liquid in a clear bottle i forget what its called just apply that to the spots and they should clear up
Reply:maybe allergies or flees. If you bath the dog often you may not be getting all the soap you use out of it's fur or bathing it to often which doesn't allow the skin oils to redevelop properly. and it could be that the dog is not getting the right nutrition.
Reply:I pd $3200 for a solid white english bulldog and when she was less than a yr my husband bathed her in AXE shampoo. Needless to say.... all of her fell out. I had this bald, pink fat dog. Anyhoo.... took her to the vet and he put this collar on her. Looked like a generic flea collar, but it worked. We now only bathe her w/baby shampoo.

I suggest you call the local vet and get some professional advise. Doesn't sound very good, but then again it could be really simple!
Reply:My dog has the same problem. It could be many different things. But i think she was allergic to fleas! I gave her a bath in flea shampoo and her hair started growning back! I have a chocolate lab and someone else said the same thing was wrong with their lab, they took theirs to the vet.
Reply:This happened to my Sassy a few months ago. She had a little bald spot just in front of her left ear. I took her to the vet and had a skin scraping test plus an allergy shot that cost ,in total, $80. The test was negative (of course). A few weeks went pass and nothing happened. Didn't clear up or anything. The all of a sudden it went away on it's own. But just to be sure, you should take your love in to be checked out. You never know. Good luck!
Reply:Take your dog to the vet to be assessed. I did and found out that my beagle had a mite that caused itchiness and hair loss. The vet gave him a dose of flea medication and I gave him another dose a week later. After 2 doses that problem was gone.
Reply:I know with my dog it was caused by letting them eat a low quality food. I switched to an all natural type like California Natural - Lamb and Rice. The lamb and rice it higher in fat so I limited the food I fed her. I also bought Safflower oil ( you can buy it at any grocery store ) and poured a little over her food each day. This cured the problem. I hope that helps you out some, I learned this AFTER i took her to the vet several times and spent over $200!!!!!!!
Reply:Complicated issue = could be food allergy, flea dermatitis, allergy to something in your home or yard.

First thing you need to make sure your dog is on a monthly flea preventative, every month without fail, Frontline, Advantix - ask your vet.

Secondly, feed a good quality dry dog food, with meat the first product, not corn or grain. In other words, no supermarket stuff or Walmart. Read the ingredients on the food, look for meat and no chemicals or fillers.

Then take your dog to your vet and have him checked for any obvious manges or allergies.

There are medications for skin problems, chief of which are mild steroids like prednisone which work very quickly to alleviate the problem, but you still need to get to the root of it.

Benadryl can help with the itching, and is over the counter.

Good luck, keep on this until your dog is comfortable, this can be very irritating to your dog.
Reply:We have a cat in the family that gets like that often and a dog that kind of begins to scratch then forgets to stop. Our vet gives us shots of Pretnazone (spelling???) and it helps tremendously. But ask your vet for best results.

Also be sure your house isn't too dry for them or doesn't have bugs that make them itchy.
Reply:It might have tics, mites or fleas. Take it to the vet.
Reply:your dog should see a vet there are many things that make that happen and with out seeing the dog no one would really be able to give you advice with out seeing the dog.
Reply:as i said before, have your dogs thyriod checked, if all else fails. It is one of the most common form of hot spots and very inexpensive to treat.
Reply:hi, are the dry spots moist?

your dog could have HotSpots, its a skin

irritation, its usually caused by feeding yhe

dog human food, or poor quality dog food.

there is medicine,or use a antifungi cream

that humans use its cheaper %26amp; works.

goodluck,
Reply:You should take ur dog to the vet there might be alot of reasons

Red blotchy skin?

I woke up last nite with red blotches all over my body and feeling really hot, its not itchy and there are no spots im just red all over, i have taken anti histamines but it doesnt seem to being getting better, does anyone think this sounds like an allergic reaction? i have an appointment at the doctors later on but was just wondering if anyone had seen this happen before???

Red blotchy skin?
it is most likely a heat rash- the symptoms are red patches on the skin which are not itchy. There's no need to take anti-histamines for it, some cream such as aloe vera will do as it cools and soothes the rash
Reply:you are doing the right thing only the doctor can diagnose your condition . don,t worry it could be just a allegy

EMERGENCY!!!! MY SKIN IS HAVING an ALERGIC REACTION TO SOMETHING I THNK...WHAT DO I DO?!?

this morning when i woke up my face was red and itchy!!!

it still is. i might have put something on it or something to cause this--i don't know, but i've cleaned in and put some soothing lotion stuff on it but it hasn't helped and i don't want 2 go into school tomoro looking like this! plz help!!!!!!!!!!

EMERGENCY!!!! MY SKIN IS HAVING an ALERGIC REACTION TO SOMETHING I THNK...WHAT DO I DO?!?
I don't want to scare you but is it only your face?

First you should make sure what parts of your body are affected and remember very well what did you eate yesterday and with what you had contact. Then check out thouroughly your bed. I said I don't want to scare you but everything is possible now. What I would recommend is that you go to the Doctor. Don't take chances.
Reply:drink a lot of water and that will help flush it out... take a benadryll too.. take it a few hours before bed so your not groggy at school. hope you can figure out what caused it
Reply:Take some Benadryll as soon as possible! I have had the same problem with acne medications. Did you put any of that on? Try to figure out what you put on or near your face last night so this doesn't happen again. If it feels hot to the touch, put a cool damp cloth on your face, and drink plenty of water.
Reply:Get to a hospital. Don't ever fool around with allergic reactions.
Reply:Take some Benadryl. If it's an allergic reaction that may help to reduce the redness.
Reply:Take some benedryl then go to the Dr.
Reply:take some benadryl - it will curb the allergic reaction......or use some calamine lotion on your face or one of those other anti itch creams.
Reply:DO NOT put anything else on your face. Do what Angel said (benadryl and water) and leave it alone. There's nothing else you can do. Go back to whatever you were using before and if there is something new you're using, stop using it. It could be the detergent on your pillow and sheets also.
Reply:Get yourself some benadryl at the drugstore it should help. I'd stop using the lotion, which apparently doesn't seem to agree with you.
Reply:Go to the doctor, it could be a number of things! You could be allergic to the soap used to wash your bed sheets. You could be allergic to something you ate, something you drank, etc etc. I would just go to your doctor or call a doctor and describe what's going on and ask if it's serious. You could have hives! It could be a billion things. Call your doctor. AND DON'T ITCH!!
Reply:call the doctor!!!!!
Reply:Take benedryl, this will make you drowsy and help it not to itch as bad. You need to get some over the counter cortisone cream and put it on your face. Change your pillow covering if you haven't already. Stay cool, heat will make it itch. If it is still in the same condition after 24 hours of this you should really go see a dermatologist. Good luck
Reply:You might have to take a medicine or rub calimine lotion on it. I would go to a doctor and see what the problem is. If you try to treat it before you know what it is, it might get worse.
Reply:consult a physician (skin specialist) and take remedies or take an avil injection or tablet take rest.
Reply:Best is to take some Anti Histaminic tabletes and see the doc immediately.

Sometimes these can be very bad.

I hope you did not eat sea food . Could be food allergy too.
Reply:put ice on it right away or benadryl lotion. Or try hydrocortisone creme. How about aloe vera gel. Maybe it is a spider bite. Call your local emergency room opr doctor.

Under the skin cists?

This year I have developed 2 cists, one in my thigh and one in my lower back. The one in my lower back became infected and swelled to the size of a marble, which made this huge red irritated, sore, itchy spot on my back. I had to take medication for it but it was still awful. Does anyone know how to deal with a cist that gets infected? can this be dangerous?

Under the skin cists?
You should see a doctor. Many doctors mis-diagnose hidradenitis suppurative, but you should ask about it.
Reply:once you get them, you are prone to keep getting them, it sucks. ive had 3 so far, and have a huge scar on my shoulder where i had to have it drained (gross). I had one on my tailbone that got infected and they just gave me medication for it as well, you really cant do much. i dont think its dangerous, just painful.
Reply:there are many codition that causes cysts.

you better see a doctor my dear

t could be lipoma or anything else.
Reply:Your Doctor is the best one to answer that question. Most usually a doc will lance (drain) a cyst. It could also be a boil. Do not attempt to pop it yourself as that will make it worse and can cause infection. Go back to the Doctor.
Reply:I have had a few. The ONLY way to deal with it is to have it surgically removed.

Red blotchy skin?

On my thighs and sides of my stomach, I have these red blotchy areas that look like i got attacked by mosquitoes. they are itchy and bumpy. I don't think it's ringworm, but idk...help please.

Red blotchy skin?
get your self tested for allergies. it may be laundry detergents try oatmeal lotion this will stop the Itch and its good for your body ..
Reply:Maybe heat rash, or folliculitis.

Why do skin tattoos get irritated when you dye your hair?

my tattoo got irritated and itchy with bumps and it also said this could happen on the box, does anyone have any ideas what causes this?

Why do skin tattoos get irritated when you dye your hair?
Was the tattoo fully healed when you dyed your hair? I find that hair dye irritates even the smallest lesion.
Reply:Well I belive is because of the iron particles in the ink which expand under the skin due to the temperature.
Reply:too much of a metallic compound in your body.
Reply:I have never heard of hair dye doing that before.

I guess it would be the ammonia, in the dye.

Next time try putting a thick lotion over your tattoo, protecting it from the dye.

Good Luck.
Reply:I have several tats and I dye my hair often and I've never had that problem. Maybe you are allergic to something in the dye.

My pit bull terrier has had terrible skin problems since birth?

She's itchy all over, has hair loss %26amp; rednes,s on belly, neck, legs, even head that even will bleed if she scratches enough. We've had every test known to man done-full allergy bloodwork, testing for mites, fleas, any type of parasite, changed food, food bowls, beds, blankets, shampoo- need I go on?We've literally spent thousands of dollars with no results. I'm not sorry we spent the money because at least things got ruled out but does anyone have any ideas that the vet %26amp; I haven't thought of? Or has someone experienced something similar? We're desparate, I love her but there's no way she can be happy always taking different pills or getting poked or worse being itchy %26amp; uncomfortable for the rest of her life.

My pit bull terrier has had terrible skin problems since birth?
How old is your dog? My male Pit Bull has so many different skin allergies but they were much worse when he was younger. The first allergy our vet told us about is a common one...food. He is extremely allergic to chicken and so we changed his food. I had to start checking the labels cause I noticed that even some of the lamb and rice formulas have a little bit of chicken-by-product in them. I even check the labels on on his treats. I can always tell when he has gotten into something he shouldn't have...he breaks out instantly! After we changed his food things got a little better but he was still very itchy. We did more tests and found out he has pollen/outside allergies. When he was young (about 10mths to 3yrs) we had to do seasonal shots. They helped a great deal with the itching and the sores and as he got older (he'll be 5 this DEC.), he seemed to grow out of his outside allergies. We don't do the shots anymore and he hasn't had a breakout in over a year.

It seems like you've tried everything...maybe you need a second opinion?....Try another vet and see what they come up with. There is hope...I know...its awful to go through and to see your dog like this. Hopefully you will find a solution soon....good luck!
Reply:Wow! I am assuming you have ruled out food allergies etc with the testing done. What about mange? Did they ever test for that? You did blood testing what about skin testing for allergies? How about scrapings? etc?
Reply:Are you using anything in the house she may have allergies to.. Like carpet sprinkles, candles, and sprays.... Things like that effect dogs just like humans. Solid gold has alot of good food for allergies, maybe try a venison/rice, or fish and potato, ask your vet about some benadryll, just ask your vet cause it will go by her weight.. Either way i don't foresee no pills, maybe try a steroid like prednisone, or something for inflammation.. But think if there is anything you use in the house it could be affecting her.
Reply:We had a similar problem, but it was mostly solved by feeding them lamb and rice dog food. Someone advised me to use Yeast and Garlic powder. You can get it at the health food store. I bought PetGuard. It is specifically made for pets. The lady that suggested it swears by it. She had a similar situation. It will take some time for this to start working. She said at least a month. I hope this helps. It's frustrating having an itchy dog. Did they ever give her steroid shots or pills? or antibiotics? It could be an infection and it just needs to be cleared up. There's something causing this. I would get another opinion. At this point, it couldn't hurt.
Reply:Change her food.

Corn, wheat, milk, soy, beef (it's rare, but note worthy) and chicken all cause this reaction.

Look into Innova EVO (it's doing WONDERFUL things for dogs like yours), Wellness, Canidae, and Artemis (the best of these, but it's pretty expensive.)

All are great, all have websites.

California Natural Skin and Coat Supplement works like a charm. You will be amazed! www.naturapet.com for more information.

Ark Naturals is a line of herbal, all natural supplements that help a lot too. www.arknaturals.com for more information.

NEVER feed Purina, Iams, Science Diet or Eukanuba. It's harmful to your dog's health.

Read "Food Pets Die For" by Ann N. Martin for all the gruesome details.

Good luck
Reply:We had this problem (not quite as bad) with our lab and we switched her diet to the B.A.R.F diet. Similiar to the human train of thought healing from the inside. Her coat is beautiful, teeth are white and she is a older dog and a added benefit is that her poop is small. Weird I know but it is smalller because of less filler and waste since commercial dog food is mostly corn and it doesnt smell. I included a website for you. Good Luck
Reply:Do you have her on Revolution or any other type of flea or tick medication? Some of those combinations are too strong for some dogs.

Have you tried a strict elimination diet with her? If so, what kind of proteins and grains did you try?

Have you tried benadryl and has that worked to alleviate her itching for awhile?
Reply:LMAO. Is being utterly hilarious a side effect of this so called skin disorder?
Reply:That sounds terrible! I feel sorry for your poor pup. Since you've had all these tests done, you've probably ruled out anything common. And I don't think it's allergies because allergies aren't present from birth. I would try taking her to another vet. I'm sure your vet is good, but sometimes it helps to get a fresh perspective on the situation. Also, I noticed some vets are more dependent on diagnosing diseases by identifying them under microscope, which might help with your dog. Also, have you tried giving your dog steriods or anithistamines for the itching? Steroids stopped my dog's allergy itching. It has to be given with a vet's supervision because it's powerful, but if your dog is in pain, it might help her, even if you don't know what the problem is yet.
Reply:The other posters have very good suggestions regarding food changes, benadryl, etc. Have you been taking her to your regular vet or a dermatology specialist? A dermatology specialist may have some ideas that the regular vet hasn't thought of, so you may want to try that. I don't know where you are, but I could give you a number to the local dermatologist in my area and maybe he would know how to find one in your area... If you would like his #, e-mail me tbjumper0514@yahoo.com

I have a wool cardigan that is gorgeous but very itchy..?

any tips on how to soften it so I can wear it without wanting to scratch my skin off!!

I have a wool cardigan that is gorgeous but very itchy..?
The best way is to leave it in some fabric softener for a while and one that you do not rinse out after or find something very light weight and fine that you could wear underneath it.
Reply:Fabric softener when washing and perhaps wear a thin cotton top underneath it.
Reply:when you wash put lots of softener in with it. It makes the wool relax a bit.
Reply:Brainlad has it all right though there are other preventative measures such as washing the article separate from the rest and hand wash in lux as this is specially for woollens. It softens the natural oils in the wool thus making the garment more comfortable for the wearer

Is it Shetland wool...that type of wool causes very itchy skin and wearing a thin cotton tee shirt will be the only way to resolve your problem.

What is this called? It's a skin rash...?

About a year ago I got a rash on my leg that was red with little bumps, if it was bad enough they'd have pus in them and it was very itchy. I used some Tea Tree oil for it and it helped it go away. Now here is where I get confused...

The rash is on my right shin, and it comes back whenever I were some knee high boots with just normal ankle socks, if I wear nylons or knee high socks my leg is ok. So it must be from my boots, right? No, because I got the same thing on my left forearm, I have 1 spot on my left lower stomach, and 1 spot on my left thigh on the front The spots are small, no larger than a quarter. Except for the one on my shin. Now I think the one on my shin was from my boots, one of my cats peed on it. I wash them several times in vinegar, hot water, soap and finally put some baking soda on it and brushed it off. If it was just an irritant from my boot, then why was it anywhere else?

Also, the other spots were not as itchy or oozing at all. Some type of Dermatitis?

What is this called? It's a skin rash...?
Hello!

This "sounds like" it could be eczema by the way you describe it and that it turns up in different places on your body.

It will be worth your while to see a Dermatologist for proper treatment and relief.

This link has pictures and some explanations of eczema that you might find helpful. Meantime, try not to scratch it as it just makes things worse by opening those liquid pockets. Try some Calamine Lotion on it, hopefully that will help with the itch until you can see a Dermatologist.

I hope this helped!

Take care! :)
Reply:It sounds like you are allergic to the boots. But, I don't know because it is only on one leg.

Have you seen a doctor about this?
Reply:well you say that you have a cat...

sounds like you have a ring worm

cats pee and poo have allot of parasites.

but that just my opinion..
