Any ideas why hes itching?

Doggy Itchy?
could be seasonal allergies, bug bites (lots of mosquitos this year), allergy to his food (they can develop this over time), skin reaction to some type of product (like maybe a lawn fertilizer that spread into your yard from rain, etc)....or many other things.
Reply:he might have a rash of some sort just watch it for a while and if it doesnt get better take it to the vet
Reply:Check the skin, see if there is any irritation. Your dog still might have fleas even with thourough baths. Have it checked by your vet on your next visit.
Reply:he could have dried skin. some dogs are allergic to the chemicals in the shampoo. it breaks them out and makes them itch. it dries thier skin out.
Reply:It could be food allergies. I have had that happen a few times with dogs. Try switching his food to a lamb and rice mix. Make sure also that he doesnt have flavored chew bones and dont feed him table scrapes.
Reply:Cat food is not OK for dogs. You need a new vet. Cat food contains ash and other ingredients that actively cause harm to dogs. You need to change his food to a good quality dog food - even Nutro would be better than what you're feeding / poisoning your dog with now.
Reply:Sounds like allergies. Could be ingredients in the food. Try taking away foods with any corn meal and use some with lamb and rice.
It also could be any number of other things, weeds, pollin etc.
Reply:Well giving him a bath makes their skin dry and they itch a lot when you give them baths that could be why
Reply:he could have an allergy to something, maybe to food or flea medicine, it could be dry skin and might need to be switched to a variety of coat %26amp; skin formula food. if he does have dry skin you could use dog conditioner on his coat also. if he doesnt have a rash or anything its most likely dry skin or an allergy. you can try different food, flea treatment or shampoo. hartz makes a good anti-itch hydrocortisone spray for dogs/cats/horses that is fine to use if you are positive the dog does not have hot spots or a rash/infection. it is fairly inexpensive they sell spray bottles of it at petsmart. you can try spraying it on his coat or skin if he has a particularly itchy spot.
Reply:Do your research, cat food is NOT ok for dogs.
Itching could be caused by allergies.
Go to a diff vet.
