Itchy, bumpy rash on left ribs and hand?

Hey all,

While getting ready this morning I noticed a weird-looking rash on my left side near my ribs, right under my bra line and extending down to my waistline. It's made up of a cluster of about 8 very red bumps/blotches that are just barely raised above the skin, each one about a 1/2 inch long. There's also a bump very similar to those on the back of my right hand, which showed up a couple of days ago (I thought it was a bug bite). I'm confused about the side rash especially, since I don't typically expose my midriff except maybe when I'm in my sleepwear.

I haven't changed detergents, etc., so I have no clue what it causing this. I do know that the bumps itch!!! But, thankfully, there's no pain at all, even if you push on the bumps. I feel fine, too.

I'd already had chicken pox as a child, so I don't think that's it. I also don't recally having been in contact with poison ivy, etc., especially on these areas.

Should I go to the Dr, or try treating this at home first?

You should definitely go to the "doc", but My assessment would be bitten by a spider, bed bugs or an allergic reaction to either cheap detergent or maybe something topical like lotion or perfume..
Reply:poision ivy or oak?
Reply:Go to the doctor, definitely.

Just a suggestion, do you have a pet cat or dog? Could be flea bites. But go to the doctor if it doesn't clear up, just to be on the safe side.
Reply:just chiken pox

Your pet could rub up against it; you pet it, the rest is history.

If you have it on your hand, you could have easily spread it to your ribs.

I would try some Cortaid first for the itching and some Calomine lotion to dry it out for a few days. It if persists, then I'd go to a dermatologist. They have the best medicines for it.
