About a week ago I bought a new face wash and I started getting dry skin that was ichy and flaky and red. Its bad enough that I dont want to see anyone or do anything because I have all these stupid dry/flaky spots on my face. I stopped using the face wash and I havent washed my face in like 3 days untlil today I washed it and I used a different face wash that my best friend gave me, but my face is still having issues! It burns really bad! So any advice would be much appreciated (proferable some that doesnt cost much money to fix my problem because I dont have any)Oh and if its something like not being hydrated I drink like 2 1/2 or so cups of water a day so idk if that matters or not! thx
My face is dry and itchy what do I do?
Go with the mask on my profile - you're having an allergic reaction to the chemicals in the face washes. Probably sodium laureth sulfate. There's a whole lot of other known allergy triggers in cosmetics these days - but that's the most common one.
Get a bar of natural soap from a natural store with lavender or chamomile and included oats in the bar.
Do the mask on my profile to help heal your skin quickly and reduce the redness, swelling, itchiness, flakes and pain. It could take two or three days to get the chemicals out of your dermal layers - the mask will speed that turnover up a bit. Don't use the vanilla extract included in the recipe, it will irritate your skin more - all you need is the oats and honey to help heal your skin.
Rub on some olive oil or any other light vegetable oil to help prevent additional dehydration.
ADDED:
Yes, this is a chemical burn or a very bad allergic reaction to the chemicals in conventional products.
Neutrogena oil free is loaded with alcohol and will make your skin a lot worse real fast. Don't do it.
Reply:you got a chemical burn go to a dermatolist DO NOT TOUCH IT OR SCARTCH! you're not helping it.
Reply:get it wet and scratch it.
Reply:It won't hurt to just wash your face with plain water; then use a good moisturizer like neutrogena oil free moisturizer. Try that for a few days %26amp; see if you notice any difference. You could be allergic to lots of different soaps %26amp; facial cleansers. Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day.
Reply:Put honey on it.
It will heel it and stop the scratching and it will make your skin look SO much better and softer.
Reply:Try drinking more water and try using cetaphil as a moisturizer. It is inexpensive but works really well.
Reply:Honey works.
Stop using the face wash.
After a while try a moisterizer.
