Still Itchy?

Hey asked a question the other day bout an alleric reaction 2 water maybe, come to the conclussion it could of been my fake tan, even though Ive been using it for months. Now its been 4 days and I havent used the fake tan Ive showered everynight but my skin still itches after I shower What could it be , its driving me mad?!!?

Still Itchy?
I don't know, but maybe you could try taking an antihistamine such as Piriton and see if this helps. If not, go see your Doctor to find and treat the cause.

Good luck
Reply:prickly heat with the weather we have been having lately
Reply:See your doctor. Ask for an allergy test.
Reply:shampooo ? or the soup you use. make sure u have a clean towel cause that helps tooo . hah
Reply:try using some skin moisturiser after a shower
Reply:I maybe something in your water that's drying your skin out. Try using an aloe vera lotion (any brand) apply it all over or where itchyness is and see if that helps.
Reply:there is basically no way for me to tell, unless i monitered your food i could suggest some stuff to help it is called sarna, sort of smells bad but it works great.
Reply:Is your skin dry? It could be that theself tanner removed the natural hydration/ oils that you have normally onyour skin. Try re-hydrating your skin with a non allergenic skin moisturizer.
Reply:Stop using the fake tan stuff, but dont stop drinking or bathing. Its not the water, trust me.
Reply:I used to get that every time I had a shower when I lived in India. I have no idea what it was but it used to drive me absolutely crazy and it used to make me feel like throwing up!!!
Reply:You can become allergic to something at any time, even if you have been surrounded by it all your life without any effects.

Make a list of anything you have changed recently, shower gel, washing powder, moisturiser, what you eat for breakfast, everything. If you suspect one changed thing, stop it for a few days and see does the itch go. If not, go to the doctor and get tested for various allergies, though they will just ask you to do more or less what I have suggested.
Reply:It's the type of water (hard soft) it dries the skin out. I find a shower gel with moisturiser in like Johnsons and in the bath use Johnsons Baby bath. Cured me, hope it helps.
Reply:If my skin ever itches like that I take Piriton, which is an antihistamine,...always works.
Reply:Although the source of your skin (allergic) reaction is not certain, if you are itching all over it may be the tanning creme (or a food allergy). Either way, it will take your body a minimum of days (it can take weeks) away from the allergen for the immune system's response to subside. Your immune system is trying to "protect" you from a substance it now perceives as dangerous-- hence the inflammation and itching.

As for the showers, most likely the heat of the water is aggravating your already inflammed skin tissue. This is not uncommon. Try to take cooler, shorter, and if possible, less frequent showers until you are less uncomfortable. Also, use the least harsh soaps and shampoos you can find (organic or ask your local pharmacist to recommend products known to help someone having a strong allergic skin reaction).

Be aware that once a person has a skin reaction such as yours, you are more likely to begin having other skin-- or even respiratory-- allergic reactions. My advice-- get knowledgeable on the topic. The more you do to prevent future reactions the healthier you will be throughout the rest of your life.

If the itching persists, you should try to see a doc-- a dermatologist is probably best. Moisturizing the skin with high quality lotions that are free of perfumes-- and free of the ingredient(s) causing the reaction-- are best and can be used frequently.

If you are going nuts, you might want to try using witch hazel. It works, but you need to be certain you read about its use or discuss with someone who knows. I'm not sure if there are any concerns about the use of this product.
Reply:You're probably just experiencing dry skin! Try showering with Dove for sensitive skin. It doesn't dry and I don't feel itchy when I take a shower. My dermatologist recommends it. also, you should moisturize within 3 minutes of getting out of the shower. The skin best absorbs moisture while it is still wet. I recommend Cetaphil cream. It works great. Start taking care of your skin now, while you are still young and you will have less problems as you get older
Reply:get some aloe vera on it, guaranteed to stop itching. Just make sure it's either straight from the plant or a high quality product, don't buy cheap stuff - it's cheap for a reason and won't necessarily work.
