Itchy feet....?

only at night in bed one or both of my feet start to itch like mad. I dont have atheletes foot or any other type of skin condition, the only way to ease it is to dampen a sock in cold water and put it on thats seems to help, anyone esle have this problem. It's not every night and tends to be on the souls and sides of the foot.It drives me mad anyone know what it is or do you get this.

Itchy feet....?
It's dry skin. Dry skin can be VERY itchy! The best and most enjoyable solution is to go enjoy a pedicure at your local nail salon. If you don't want to spend the money on such a luxury, you can buy supplies to do it yourself for a reasonable price (and once you have the supplies, you can use them multiple times).

Try using a pumice stone to remove the dry skin... if that's not enough, use a callus shaver (but be VERY careful because you can cut yourself BADLY!!!)...

Last but not least, put some heavy duty lotion on the dry spots. Try to avoid getting anything between your toes as this can cause fungus growth and other incredibly undesirable things. Another good thing to do is to glob on some cream before you go to bed at night, and cover your feet with socks (so the cream doesn't get on your sheets... yuck). Your feet will be smooth as a baby's bum by morning - and hopefully itch-free :)
Reply:Ermm...Maybe get some itching lotion or something.Ask your Pharmacist.
Reply:Sounds like it could be poor circulation.
Reply:Try putting some heavy cream (lotion) on them. It could be that they are a little dry. If that doesn't work, get some Caladryl lotion (at drugstores), put it on, and then put a sock over them.

Hope that helps!
Reply:wash them 2X a day w/ soap and a washcloth...outside of that an anti fungal cream at walgreens...
Reply:Oh my God. My friend told me she has to wet her socks at night to go to sleep. I thought that to be very odd. So it tickles me that there is someone else who has to. (Not for the same reasons.) Anyway to answer your question yes it does sound like dry skin. I have found that the best thing is vaseline and then white socks. Also a hint if you wake up scratching your feet try wearing gloves on your hand to so if you do scratch your feet at least the gloves won't let you scratch to hard. Which could create bigger problems. Lots of Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:my feet used to itch. the only way i could stop them from itching was to bath them in clorox ,warm water, pat dry ,do not rubb! for about 3 min for 3 days.it stoped and i havent had that problem in years.
Reply:I'm not sure if this will work since you said you don't have an obvious skin condition.

Soak feet in hot water with vinegar. You can sit on the edge of the bathtub, put enough water in the tub to cover your feet and swish in about 1 cup of white vinegar. soak them till the water cools. pat dry and moisturize. Wear sock after you moisturize to protect the carpet and your bed sheets.
