I have a very red and itchy rash under both my armpits?

It started about a week ago and doesn't seem to be getting any better. I have used powder to try and dry the skin but it is not working. Does anyone have a suggestion for clearing this rash up?

Did this start after you shaved? It could be from a dull and/or dirty razor.

It could also be heat rash.

It could also be from being 'damp', try using a gentle non-fragranced soap (it will say gentle and non-fragranced) in the area, and then dry all the way- use a hypo-allergenic or 'sensitive skin' deodorant for awhile.

Try some hydrocortizone on it in case it is an allergic reaction and try to think of anything that you have done differently such as a different deodorant, laundry detergent etc.

Also this is common from shirts rubbing 'just right'.

here is apic of armpit fungus if you are concerned about that ** needs medical attention** (otherwise known as 'Tinea Corporis'

Reply:Are u using other people deoderant?....that's a case in which a rash can occur or do u know if your allegic 2 the ingredients in the deoderant?
Reply:If you changed you deodorant or anti pursperent, you could be having an allergic reaction. I suggest not using these products for a couple of days...
Reply:Go check a doc right away!!!!
Reply:I would have a doctor look at the rash under a microscope. You might need an anti-fungal or antibacterial medication to clear up the rash. Any dark, moist, warm environment can cause an infection. You could have a translocation of the bacteria that cause jock itch, or athletes foot or an infection from a bacteria in that family. Definitely see a Dr, so you can receive the right treatment.
